New Englanders heading to FL for Feb Vacation 2012

Hey Folks,

I know MANY of us look to head south for February School Vacation. Well, I just booked our flight TO Florida on JetBlue. We are heading to my parent's house in Bonita Springs (Ft Myers area). I just scored a one-way, non stop, flight on JetBlue from BOS to TPA for $99 for the one-way on Weds Feb 15th. It's a 6pm flight, so DS can go to school all day, and DH and I can work all day.

It's only about a 2 hour drive down to Ft Myers, so it's not that bad.

We still don't have flights home yet, maybe we'll spend the rest of the winter with my parents

Funny you should post this - I booked tickets on that same flight earlier today. Never got tickets for Feb school vacation this early but couldn't pass that price up. I also haven't figured out how we're getting home either but we've got 7 months to find a way. See you on the plane!

Count me in as somebody looking for Feb flights. I'm just glad that this year is back to normal with NH being the week after MA, ME and VT. I plan to be online all morning on the 26th waiting for SWA booking to open up with the hopes of a decent fare for flights from MHT. Past experience has taught me that the nonstops from MHT to MCO on the Friday and Saturday at the beginning of the NH vacation week start jumping in price REALLY fast. I hope they open up no higher than $149 but I have this horrible feeling they'll start at $179. When does JB open their bookings past 2/15?

When does JB open their bookings past 2/15?

I thought I read somewhere that someone called and was told 7/19. It seems kind of soon since they just released through 2/15. Can anyone verify this?
