For the love of churros--this is gonna be bananas.
Would love to hear about best strategies and any tips.

We also learned that the Figment buckets came back. Sold out but it wasn't forever.
Hopefully Disney learned from the figment madness and will use mobile ordering..
My understanding is that is what they did for the Figment bucket when they switched it to a mobile order- buckets were picked up at a designated location separate from food.Hopefully not, actually. This would just inconvenience everyone who DOESN'T want one of these and just wants to get food.
The best option is opening up carts that JUST sell these buckets and nothing else. Give people a voucher to pick up the popcorn or drink elsewhere.

Yeah, me either...but I think those of us saying we hoped they learned something from Figment and did mobile order meant we were hoping for a process like that, not one that would cause more food mobile order chaos than there already is at DLR. But yeah, it's probably all wishful thinking.I don't trust Disneyland to do something that smart.

I agree with your original point to wait as the best plan- it does say available throughout the summer (and the wording makes me wonder if they will even be available next week or aren't expected until actual summer...).
That's what WDW did.. they moved to mobile order AND moved them to their own location. It was like a building just lined with them lol. I worry DL doesn't have the space tho. Is that starwars building still empty?Hopefully not, actually. This would just inconvenience everyone who DOESN'T want one of these and just wants to get food.

Can I bring an inflatable person or a crash test dummyThe strategy in Tokyo last week was to arrive 5.5 hours before park open and bring a fake baby:

Well the Mummy Mickey bucket it was handled poorly I think - it was so random and there was never any consistency.I had thought about them not actually being available right away. I imagine they have SOME in stock now, because if they didn't, they'd add the disclaimer that they'd be available "at a later date." I'm willing to bet that they don't have very many, though, and know they will receive more in the coming months.
Oh, and also "they" don't pay attention to what goes on at WDW, nor the other way around. The parks are managed by different teams, completely separate from each other. This is why things are so different across the 2 properties (DL usually does things better, though, so we can hope).
