Ok , so thoughts on new early morning hours, especially HS opening at 6 am. Thoughts....coments.....worries......how will this effect the campground? TBH , if , and i will be going to HS , the hours are 6 am. I would need to get up extra early, and make breakfast shower etc. So , lol get up at 430 am? I can see this being a huge problem.

All the resorts on property will make provisions to get you to the parks at the waking hour they open. The Fort is no different than All Stars in that respect.

Me, I will pass.

PS - But at that hour, if I were going to go I would drive my own rear end over there.

And I would confirm that the internal buses will be running thatbearlybif you need them. I would definitely do 4:30 at latest (for my gang of 6).

I couldn't have said it any better myself, allie.

And that's about the way I would feel that bearly in the morning to make a 6am rope drop. :rotfl2:

PS - but hey, I've gotten up on a cold January morning at 3am to run the Half Marathon (twice) and Full Marathon (twice). Of course, it's not my whole family (who slept in till they could see me pass through MK or over by Poly). You don't know what it feels like to catch the bus to the staging area at 330am and feeling like "I'm running late".

Then stand in the cold and dark till about 630am when my corral makes it to the start line. In January. At 39F. In the wind on Epcot Center Blvd. In shorts and a tank top.

A 6am rope drop at DHS in summer don't sound so bad after all ....

PPS - and folks like garneska and JohnVN have had that 3am wake up call WAY MORE times than I have. So if you want to make a 6am RD you can. But it's not easy.

@bama_ed I would agree about driving yourself as a first choice BUT if I had more than one day, a 6am rope drop would be a challenge I couldn’t resist.

Lol, you all misunderstand. Its not me waking at 430 am to get to the park. I'm up because of the new hours. Its me waking you up! Making breakfast, tripping on crap in the dark trying to make breakfast and showering. Not to mention driving to the park at 500 am. I can see this being a pita.

Yep, Sjm9911, I can see this being an issue but it will be an issue throughout all the Disney resorts … motel doors closing, kids running up and down hallways, your neighbors shower running, etc. However, what I would consider the "pita" is having a site within ear-shot of the bus stations.

You are correct, i was thinking the hotels would have it a bit better because of not cooking breakfast, etc. Who knows. I have HS planned for one of the early days before it was anounced. Not sure if i want to switch now ,or even if i do will they extend this to November. So i might as well go with the flow, try to be quiet for whoever likes to sleep in. But unfortunately my 7 yo doesn't know how to be quiet, at least with me not yelling at her. ( that sort of defeats the purpose. ) not my idea of the 6 am stuff , dont judge or blame! I try8-)

We are early birds, don't worry about waking us up we'll already be up. :)

We did Early Morning Magic at Hollywood Studios in late March. It was a paid event, and we had Toy Story Land open for two hours. A free breakfast was offered until 10:00 am. We stayed at the Beach Club, (going on a Disney Cruise the next day). At that time, the Beach Club did not offer busses, nor were the boats operating, it was a cool brisk Walk, but worth having the park for two hours with only maybe 2000 people. Good luck and enjoy.

Give Frank and Denise the campsite next to the bus stop then. :drive:

By 430am Frank's probably on his second stringer of fish (and third cup of coffee) anyway.

Oh man, I thought trying to get to AK by 8 was a task!
For the "RD at 6 am" day, I would NOT be making breakfasts for people. That day would be "grab a granola bar and we will eat second breakfast in the park".
Also a family of 6 so for our mega early day, we went bagless and had a plan to come back to camp around lunch to take a break and get anything we needed and return to the park after a nap. The bus was LATE on that day too, so the early crowd was huge. If you really wanted to arrive at 6am, I would pay the money for a Minnie Van that picked me up at the site and took my right on to HS but I like to sleep as long as possible and rush out the door with 4 kids bahaha.

Not my bunch. Our usual plan is sleep in and stay late.

I could see this being great benefit to beat the crowds however.

Ditto for us, sleep late, stay late. we are lucky to have a 4 season rig, extra insulation in the walls, with black out shades and the AC on we are rarely disturbed by neighbors at FW.

Guess ill just do what i have too! The tent guys might not like it too much , but what can i do. Glad i have ac in my pup! No insulation , but a few fan things and the ac should work!
