new dvc member- special privileges ?

I just became a DVC member... but booked my december vacation before I purchased the DVC. I just received my membership card and it states that we should carry it to receive benefits at disney.
So, what is it good for ?... what do i get for flashing my membership around ?

There are a number of perks available to DVC members. Just log into dvcmember.com to see what they are. For example:

Discounts at some restaurants
Discounts at some stores at DownTown Disney
Golf discounts
Spa discounts

You'll be requested to show your membership card any time you want to take advantage of any of these discounts.

i purchased the dinning package, so the discount won't help. But would be nice discount for purchases. I can't log into the member site yet... did not receive my pin # yet.

If you call Member Services, they can give you log in info.
