I wanted to post a new thread to let others know that the months of waiting may be gone!!

I'll have to pay more, but it will save me time from checking the resale sites so now I can move on to other things! I get a bit obsessive about things so Im not a good candidate

I definitely think we were the first in line for our resorts and UY's. That was awesome!!

You and me both!!! Hey, I actually had a resale in the pipeline and STOPPED it so I wouldn't have to obsess anymore!!!! It's also a better deal, since it's the same use year as my VWL points!!!

Lori2816 - The waitlist is a new policy that DVC instituted last Wednesday to assist members to obtain points at the sold out resorts. They are now taking your information and a credit card, and putting you on a list for what you want. There is a new group, who is responsible for seeing that the waitlist is satisfied, and they're the ones who dole out the points, not the guides. The price per point for the sold out resorts is $89 per point.

Help! What is the "new waitlist policy"?

Last week, DVC changed the way they handle add-ons at sold out DVC Resorts.

The price increased to $89.

The guides no longer have to check the system each day for points. You place your name and CC on a waitlist and it's first come first served. When the points become available, the next person on the list gets the points and the downpayment is charged to your CC. Your guide gets an email notification and then your guide contacts you to let you know you have points.

Unless you're me and MS tell you!!! Yep, that's right MS told me!!! I had called on Tuesday to make my VWL ressies for next summer and at the end of the call, the CM was confirming my balances. And she said, you have 150 points left at BW. I was like WHAT!!!!!! Yep, that's right, the rep at MS was the one to give me the information. My guide wasn't in the office yet, and to make things even funnier, I gave HER the news! Her computer wasn't working and she found out based on my phone call!! Yep, it definately was a weird day!!!

Hey, Beca, I just touched base with our broker and asked if we could counter offer if Disney exercised ROFR on our VWL contract -- she said, and I quote, "No, if Disney exercises the right the buyer is out of the picture". Pretty terse, I thought! Given that you are looking for Sept UY points, can't help but think we're "toast"!

Lifebabe, I agree with you about the amount of time you can spend checking Web sites and obssessing about this entire process!

I would DEFINITELY call the people in South America...I wouldn't care how much that phone call costs!! Your realtor is lying to you!! I would've called their bluff, and said "But, I know someone who has!!!

I am willing to "cancel" my waitlist if I am the only one on it until you get through ROFR, if that would help your chances...but, if there are others on the list...it won't do you any good. I will let you know if I hear something from him.

Unforunately the guides don't have access to where individuals stand on the list at this time. I actually called my guide on Monday to see where I was and she was unable to find out.

Beca, don't you DARE take your name off the waitlist!! Your offer is overwhelming and I'm amazed that anyone would be so considerate/generous, but I wouldn't dream of you doing that just to accommodate us! We have 2 BWV contracts and will just keep both of those if we don't get the nod on the VWL contract.

Well, I am VERY serious about the offer...I can ALWAYS get on the waitlist later...and, I REALLY don't want your points...you got a GREAT contract, and I want you to have it...I don't want my name on a waitlist to influence whether or not you get that contract...and, it seems like that may be what is happening!! I will let you know what my guide says!!!

You're right!!! MY guide actually said she didn't know and would call me back. She was told that there is no "list" persay and no one has access to the list. So, either she's misinformed, or you're getting wrong information.
