Robmax>> I have the teacher rate for April. I called the S/D directly, but since it was a late night weekend I was transferred automatically to their main site. I had no problem getting the teacher rate on the phone for Easter week. Good luck to you getting your dates!

Zurg'swife>> YEAH YEAH and YEAH! Sounds like everything is getting better for you.. now if only your closing would go so smoothly! Best wishes!

Go Cubs! Go Sox! Go Yankees! (alpha order.. HA!) :)

What a cutie! He's so big now! Every time I see another picture of Kirk I think of that doctor that knows not what he does or says. Thank you for sharing!

I have also been following that thread (buyer's remorse?) since about five hours into its first post. Every time I am about to post someone posts something better! I just smile and am glad we've tried to make the decisions we have. You just never nkow, and smiles last forever!

Happy Monday!
Debbie

Great - now to mull it over!!!!!!!!

Hi Glenn :wave2:

I was introduced to this board while you were away so we haven't met. My main haunt is the DVC board (BCV) but I have become somewhat of a co-editor of the DIS Class Yearbook on the CB. I was drafted to do logos for the Sorority by Disbug at the suggestion of either Mouseteacher or ozziewags (it's all a blur).

Anyway, I'm never on topic because all I know about the S&D is that it is an extra stop on the boat from BCV to MGM

BUT....everyone here loves the place and that is good enough for me.

So I've added you to the Yearbook (link in signature) but I must warn you about the ladies here....They'll show you pictures of pastries and cute 4 month old babies and then before you know it they are talking about bracelets and bath salts! They're evil I tell you! One of them even turned me into human show and tell object for her 5th grade class :earseek:

Just kidding as you will soon see that is what I do best :jester:

.....but they LOVE you Mr. Bonica! New letter coming soon!

(For those of you who haven't figured it out, my class and Lou have been corresponding via email :chat: since the week after the 9-11 anniversary. I asked permission to read his tribute to my fifth grade class and it took off from there! They love the letters, and are learning that people, are people, are people, despite all the different ways we think and live!) :)

THANK YOU LOU!
Debbie

PS Hunting season is upon us... I feel a new bracelet in my future!princess:

Glenn- I'm impressed with your schools mission statement. Best of luck on that wonderful job & house! Did you visit your Yearbook photo yet? Page 113.

MomP - As always, adorable. I just want to snuggle that little sweetie pie right up next to me and cuddle, cuddle, cuddle. Then take a baseball bat and knock that dumb aXX dr you had before right upside the head........::yes::

Since I am the on-topic whiner I have to admit I can't think of a thing tonite.......

Off-topic - I will be heading for Cincinnati Wed Nite to the Tall-Stacks Festival. We have rooms near the riverfront on Ky side at the Hampton Inn. I'm sitting looking at my ressie and for some reason it says King Studio. I'm sure I booked 2 beds! Oh well, I guess I will get the foldout and my DD & mom will get the bed.
We won't have time for the Zoo this trip since we don't get to head out from WI until Wed after work - any suggestions for somewhere great to eat supper besides Waffle House? Someone must be from close to Cincy here!!!

Thanks - we ain't bad for a bunch of ole folks from bama! As for the yearbook ...and thanks to Lou... my confusion is now complete - Hey but I am a prof so that's to be expected ALWAYS! :earseek: And unfortunately the 80's thing is accurate to a point - the decade emcompasses most of my HS and Undergrad years. But RobMax is more offspring related -- LOL!!!

At least he didn't put Kid Rock up there!

Well - off to bed. I will have fun in my first real case based class tomorrow - as a friend of mine's child once said, "My Dad is a Dr. but he can help anybody!" :p

Sox won game four .

Good evening all! :wave2:

Mom Poppins~What a CUTIE! Thanks for sharing. Four months already? (Where does the time go?).

Rob Max~Glenn...Pledging process? Hmmmm...we have not revealed a lot of details (YET) in reference to this query. Stay tuned.

YES...I received the neat little Platinum Luggage tags (gift!). Did you ever receive the travel clock (2000)? It was my fav...and they sent me TWO! ::yes::

OATMEAL SOAP? ..........

Zurgswife~My heart goes out to your DD, and I pray she is feeling better soon. Poor little thing, Blood tests are NO FUN for anyone. Give her lots of extra TLC, and a "special" mom-daughter treat after the tests are completed.

I'm glad to hear your little pup is doing better, and hope the "staple-removing" visit went well.

I am interested in a DVC resale as well. I'll await the news on yours...before plunging ahead with mine. Did you locate yours on the DIS?

#1hockeymom~Go Cubs, Go Sox, GO WINGS, Go Yankees!
Now...that's ALPHA Order! LOL....except the WINGS play with STICKS as opposed to BATS! :teeth:

So glad you checked-out the BUYER'S REMORSE thread. What a Great uplifting bunch of posts (and many from us S/D SS's). It's so nice to know we share such a strong common bond, and all defend the right to our own piece of Zanadu.

LOU~LOL....("Anyway, I'm never on topic because all I know about the S&D is that it is an extra stop on the boat from BCV to MGM" & "BRACELETS & BATH SALTS!). You are such a CARD! :rotfl:

Formally: LOU, MEET ROB. ROB, MEET LOU. :chat:

jgates ~I hope you enjoy your time at the Hampton Inn in KY. Too bad about the Zoo, Cinn is one of the BEST in the Nation.
Have a safe trip...and enjoy your time with your loved ones.

mouseteacher~hats off to your team. They played like gentlemen...and played well enough to win. This series is a nail-biter to the end. I smiled as they announced the Sox took the fourth game, as I envisioned the "harmony" inside your home. Have a great day tomorrow. Hope...is alive and well for us both.

TTFN....DF99

-any suggestions for somewhere great to eat supper besides Waffle House? Someone must be from close to Cincy here!!!

Cincinnati checking in here! Glad I can finally add something...I am such a lurker and had a magnificent stay at the Swan this past summer thanks to all I learned on this board.

Lots of great restaurants here - you know what they say about the midwest, no mountains or ocean so we have restaurants instead.

On the river (Cincinnati side) the Montgomery Inn Boathouse has great ribs.

Kentucky side has lots of choices and you get a nice view of Cincinnati. Newport on the Levee is a popular spot to riverwatch, eat, and shop. The Newport Aquarium located there also. Go to www.newportonthelevee.com to investigate. My favorite spots there are Claddagh Irish Pub (for sitting outside watching the river, sipping your favorite brew), Brio Tuscan Grille (a chain but good Italian choices- no view though), Mitchell's Fish Market (obvious menu, good food), and Jeff Ruby's Tropicana (local, fun and good food).

My favorite is Mike Fink's on the river in Covington. It floats! Old restaurant, great location, good food and ambiance. You'll be right there next to all the river traffic - never know what's going to float past.

There's a TGIFriday's at the bottom of Madison in Covington, too.

Another thought is the revolving restaurant atop the Radisson in Covington. Haven't been there in years but the view is awesome.

Every place will be crowded. I'd call ahead for a reservation. You may end up eating hotdogs from a vendor - there will be lots!

Maybe others will add to this list. Be sure to check out www.tallstacks.com if you haven't done that. Lots of great music available all weekend long. We're going to have so much fun!

jgates.......Montgomery's Rib House is right on the water. Be prepared for a wait. Cincy is also famous for it's Chili. Might ask at the hotel for restaurant favs. :hyper:

DS got in late last night after covering the Rams game for his newspaper. :bounce: I am off to school before he gets up to go back to college, so won't even get to see him.

See ya!:wave2:

Cincy is also famous for it's Chili.

Five way even!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But it has brown sugar in it so be prepared - if I ate it Dr. Atkins would rise from the dead!!!!

jealous, jealous, jealous!!!!!

I have the insert (about Tall Stacks) from the SUnday paper. I wish we could go!!! Lots of good concerts at Sawyer Point/Yeatman's Cove...the weather is supposed to be nice, I think.

As far as eating--Skyline Chili (or Gold Star, it's the same "type" of Cincinnati chili :) ), Montgomery Inn Boathouse--might be tricky because of the Tall Stacks thing, there are several restaurants on the river in Covington and Newport....I'm sure you'll find someyou like! La Rosa's pizza is also a favorite of ours 347-1111 it's the pizza that is served at King's Island.

Can't wait to read ahead to see what else anyone suggests....I love Cincinnati! In fact, I share a hometown with George Clooney....who was born near the Cincinnati area :)

:wave2: Hi, all...just catching up - I am at school waiting for School Board meetings to begin at 5:30.

Congrats, Mom Poppins! I went on one of the very first DVC tours when they first started with OKW. The price was pretty reasonable and I truly regret not jumping in at that time. DH and I were wary of "timeshares" and opted to pass. Bad choice!
