New DME Digs

I passed through the new DME area yesterday several times. It is reallly different than the "A" side. Much more roomier and the area you line up for entry to the bus is about twice as big as the other side. The reception desks were just about empty as 5 - 7 Disney employees were waiting to take care of guests walking up.

I think the airport took all the furniture from the "meet and greet" areas and put it down in the lounge area of the DME. Now families can wait while one member approaches the Welcome Desk for registration with the DME. It is very spacious and looks very comfy. Much better than the "A" side area that had been set up.

Yesterday it was extremely slow at the airport. There were 6 busses waiting everytime I was in the area. The commercial DME area was waiting to receive passengers in a very efficient manner. I was impressed as I stood around and watched the operation for a few minutes, before I went about my business.

I am with you! I can't wait to see it in 6 days! See you at the world! I have a lime green mickey attached to my camera bag....... I also have some lime green shirts as well, but only a couple..... you will be able to pick me out of a billion people, right?

Ah, but you already knew that, didn't you?? Hence the term 'Disney nuts'!!! Only people like us would look forward to checking out the new DME digs!!

Yes, DME was moved mostly because it had outgrown the original area that MCO set aside for it. The new area not only has much more space inside the terrminal, but about twice as many bus spaces, as well. This will allow more busses to load up simultaneously, which should cut down on wait times and load times.

One person in front of me at the desk and then right through the waiting area onto a bus. Five minutes later we were on our way.

I didn't have time to notice the changes. A CM made a point of saying only one guest should wait on line. I'm sure Ed is correct but I wasn't there long enough to notice the changes.

There may only be 6 DME bus spaces but are there any Mears spaces that they can also use?
