New Disney Visa "Inspire" card

We have an upcoming short trip to WDW and haven't decided on whether or not we will do a day in a park. If we buy a ticket at the gate, can we charge it to our room and have it go towards the $2k spend/$200 reward? We already met the ticket incentive with another trip. Think this would work that way? Or will charging to the room not be allowed?

Should be able to. I just renewed an AP on my Magicband at MK Guest Services and it counted toward the 2k.

I wonder if it is like the tickets where it shows up after your next closing date.
I would guess that is the case. The $300 statement credit for hitting my new account spend goal posted right away, but the $100 statement credit for $200 on park ticket purchases didn't hit until the statement closed. I'm guessing the 200 rewards dollars for spending $2,000 on resorts/DCL would be like the ticket offer.

My last statement closed on May 5. I hit both the ticket & resort spend card on April 15. Plus the new card spend for the $300 bonus during the same time frame. I got the $300 immediately before the statement closed on May 5th. My account says I completed both spends. I still haven’t received the credits for either the tickets or resort spend. My next statement closing date is June 5th, I assume sometime in that next cycle.

Just got back from our 7 night WDW stay. Charged all dining and merch to the room and only hit $635 (it's just my husband and I) so I don't think trying to get to $2000 is reasonable for us. We have two 3-night Disneyland trips and a 8 night WDW trip before the card renewal date. I think it might be better for me to switch back to buying gift cards to at least save 5% rather than hoping I will hit $2000 to get back $200 in rewards.

Doesn’t payment of the trip itself count towards the $2000?

I think we're similar in this. We're expecting our first kid any day now and having bought DVC I doubt we'll be able to take advantage of this reward. We were already subscribers of a Hulu Live Disney+ package which will pay for the yearly fee between the $10/month credit and the 10% rewards. We'll still get the ticket credit and enjoy getting 3% back on DVC dues.

All depends how you are paying for your trip/booking your trip. If you are booking direct with Disney for a hotel or package then yes.

We are DVC and then we do tickets through a 3rd party and don't add the dining plan. The only way we can capture the 2k is charging to the room. We will have 4 trips and it will be close/tricky to hit the 2k. Mobile Ordering takes out a chunk as well. We had a 5 night trip in Feb/March (2 adults/2 teens) and we only had $365 in room charges since mobile ordering doesn't hit, and our only discount is the Disney Visa so we have to present that and pay to get that discount.

We have Disney Vacation Club, so no room cost. We didn't do any mobile ordering this trip except for Woody's Lunchbox because that was a nightmare line, and charged all food to the room. The TOT charge at Disneyland will hopefully count to the spend. That might help get me to the $2000, but I'm thinking of bailing and just using gift cards.

I can’t imagine only spending $600 on a 7 night stay. That’s amazing! 🤩

For the $2000 folio spend, is that cumulative over the year, or per trip? Like if I go 2x this year and spend $1000 each time, does that count? Or would it have to be 2000/per trip

My wife and I have our own Inspire cards....so far I have put $1500 on a room folio earlier this year. On our next trip, does anyone know if I can charge $500 to my folio, then go to front desk and pay it off, thus triggering my $200.....Can I then change our folio to my wife's card and use that towards her $2000 folio year? Anyone know if this is possible? Thanks in advance....

Yes, you can absolutely do this.

You could also put your wife's Inspire card on file, wait until you charge $500+ to the room, and then make a one time payment with your Inspire card without changing anything on file. The remaining balance after your $500 payment will hit your wife's Inspire card the morning of checkout.

You could also split the folio and set your Inspire card to your charging privileges and your wife's Inspire card to her charging privileges and just charge up to $500 on your band and switch to charging to her band for the rest of the trip. Whatever you feel the most comfortable with.
