Chase is offering FOUR new debit cards that are disney themed! There are no rewards, but it does get you the following perks:

-- Access to a private Cardmember location at Walt Disney World(R) and the Disneyland(R) Resorts, where Cardmembers can meet some of their favorite Disney Characters and receive a complimentary 5 x 7 photo

-- 10% off select dining locations at Walt Disney World(R) and Disneyland(R) Resorts (meal period restrictions may apply)

-- 20% off the non-discounted price of select guided tours

-- $50 onboard credit when Cardmembers pay for their Disney Cruise Line(R) vacation in full with their Disney's Visa(R) Card and mention this offer

-- Access to a dedicated toll-free customer service phone number

I just switched my debit card over to that. :)

I had the old disney debit, when it had a fee and rewards (the rewards totally made up for the fee), and my card actually expires this month. I was NOT looking forward to not having sparkly Mickey on my card, and then this shows up! So now I'll have a sparkly castle on my card, and get discounts. :) Well, actually, we get discounts with either our APs or the DVC card, but THIS gets me the meet/greet. :)

Thanks for the info!!!
I just called chase and I have a new Disney debit card on the way. I picked the mickey and pals card. Now I just need to find out about the character meet and greets.

I requested one a few weeks back when they announced this on the Disney Parks Blog.

The M&G is at DCA and begins 30 minutes after the parks regular opening and lasts for one and a half hours. It is done in the Hollywood Backlot area.

Can anyone tell me how crowded the M&G is? We just got our Rewards card and are trying to decide whether or not to use the M&G perk...

Do you have to pay any fees to get or use one? We don't have fees with our credit union.

I did the meet and greet last year, and walked right up to Chip and Dale. There was no line, and there was no one behind us, so my Mom got to really interact with her favorite characters.

I don't know what the debit card deals were before, but these are the same perks I've received since I got my card 8 years ago or so. But I have a credit card. My Disney Visa credit card offers 1% back on all purchases in form of a Disney Rewards Card, which, in the past, I've used to pay for much of my food and stuff when in WDW.

As for if there are fees, I don't know if they do because I have a credit card, not a debit card. But when it comes to the credit card there is no fees if you have the basic card. There's a preferred card, I'm not sure what they called it, and there's a $100 fee I think a year if you have that.

As for the M&G I've only done the one in WDW and it's nice. They let one "family" in at a time to take pictures. My first year it was Pluto, Mickey, and Donald. The second year I think we forgot to do it. And the third year it was Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy. We were never rushed and let us take a lot of pictures.

I will say for the M&G in WDW at least, I like being the first person there. The last time I did it, it was just Minnie and Goofy in the room (I was a little bit disappointed that Mickey wasn't there) and then Mickey came up and surprised me. I think I waited a half hour or an hour before the M&G started. But I was traveling solo and didn't really have anyplace to go or see (lines were short and I've been several times in the past). Plus I just sat there and rested my feet for the time.

oh wow debit cards now this i could do. I will go down to the bank tuesday to try for this (or just call maybe?) theres no credit check right? Ive been told no go on CC but i have my debit card

Our cards came in last week! I finally got around to activating my Mickey card today!

No fees for the card, but in order to avoid checking account fees at Chase, you have to have at least $500 a month direct deposited into the account.

I highly recommend this! Longest we've ever waited was 10 mins or so. You also get a free picture with this, cool!

DS thinks this M&G is just for him. It's SO private & you really get to take your time. The characters play & joke around with DS & he just loves it so much! I always tell him on every trip that his "special friends" are waiting for him... It used to be chip & dale OR Pluto. Now I believe it's either Minnie or Stitch. With this change, I'm not sure if DS will go for it. But we may still give it a try. I think they've also changed the times too.

Not everyone wants, or can get, the chase card. Tis debit card is their second take at having a debit card.

The first time there was a fee, and you got rewards like with the CC. That ended supposedly because of the banking changes a little bit ago; bogus excuse since the banks knew of the reforms for years enforce it happened, and created the Disney debit card anyway, but that's what they liked to say. The discount perks lasted until last October I believe.

Now there is no fee, and no rewards, but you get the cute card and discounts. Of course it means you are using chase bank with all the requirements they have, and you aren't using a CC and earning rewards on that, but sometimes these choices have to be made, lol.

We still had a chase acct for availability of easy cash in the parks if needed, and the new debit was announced just as our old Disney debit cards were expiring, so that worked out well for us. :wizard:

Jade, you have to have an account with chase, and to keep the account free there are certain requirements. Easy enough to talk to a chase banker to see if it will work for you.

No fees. No credit checks. As long as you have a Chase account you can get the Disney card. I just did got a mickey debit to go with my mickey credit card.

It sounds like Disney is using this to steer folks to eating at places that may not get the most traffic.
