Wow - If the report is accurate, then Disney has a marketing team that loves convoluting things don't they? Those pass options are starting to sound like buying cell phone service.
I don't have a problem with the way APs and MYW passes are currently configured and sold. Okay, prices are soaring, but then again, so are Disney's park operational, maintenance and development costs. The DVC AP discount has kept us on site so far for our visits and provided it stays, I don't see that changing.
What I would like to see changed are the Extra Magic Hours. EMH used to be a perk for staying on-site. The lines and crowds were quite manageable and it was a fun time. Now that they eliminated wristbands, EMHs are open to anyone who wishes to stay longer and if they pal up with someone with a valid room key they can frequently get onto the rides by simply stating "I'm with him" or "I left it behind". Although EMHs still sound enticing, the hard truth I've experienced is that they frequently cause larger crowds, and with that, already exhausted families: man, woman and child are more likely to have the overdose breakdowns. And what's up with the fastpass option being turned off and wait time signs now operating? My kids and I now go to alternate parks on the EMH days and avoid them all together.
Something to remember: KISS Principle (Note the reference to Disney Animation)
My vote: Keep passes the same and fix EMH.
