New Disney Ships: News, Rumors, Speculation.....and Names!

We were 'meh' about the Wish too and decided to skip it. However, the theming of the Treasure caught our attention enough that we just booked it for next year. It hits a lot of the right notes for us in terms of aesthetics, IP choices (minus Marvel as a dining option), even if the layout doesn't look ideal. I'm glad to hear you loved it.
I hope you enjoy the Treasure! :)

Pretty sure Villains Land is beyond Big Thunder. Not where Rivers has been.
Cars isn’t taking up all of what was Rivers of America, Cars is mostly the Tom Sawyer Island circle area between HM and BTM.

Behind that will be the Villains land. Pathway to villains will be between BTM and HM

Most of what’s beyond the railroad will be lay down areas for construction materials. Those will be future expansion areas. Majority of Villains land will be where the existing Rivers of America is.

That’s just from permitting that’s been filed so far.

I personally am not too intrigued by the Destiny. It’ll save me a longer trip down to FLL… that’s good…

"On track" in that language probably means based on sales data for early cruises on the first ship + successful delivery of the first ship (or at least the first few stages of it). Meaning: they probably won't wait until Ship 1 is serving customers, they'll make a determination earlier based on pre-launch metrics.

What kind of royalties does Disney make from OLC? Is that disclosed anywhere? Just curious.

After Tokyo Disneyland opened in the 1980's, OLC was paying Disney a 10% royalty on all admission tickets sold and a 5% royalty on all food, beverage, and merchandise sold. I don't know if this agreement is still in place.

I'm sure that there are consultation fees that are paid when new attractions are designed by Imagineering.

DCL to start sailing year round from Galveston in 2027
“Disney may bring in a much larger ship than the Magic as part of the switch.”

Can Galveston fuel the Wish class ships or does this pretty much mean Dream/Fantasy? Would that mean longer sailings? Even though TX is closer to us than FL, I have a hard time justifying sailing with DCL if there’s no private island stop…but I do love the Dream and Fantasy.
