NEW Disney Gift Card Deals and More.

‼️🚨It did not go well🚨‼️

Support is not responsible for any unauthorized use of your DGC and no transaction can be disputed, even with providing the original activation receipt. Upon asking Support to escalate the issue, they said they would only open an investigation when contacted by law enforcement after I filed a police report.

I purchased the e-gift card in November directly from Disney Store online in preparation for our trip. It exists only in two locations: scannable from my iPhone's wallet and in a locked note on my phone for copying/pasting into the WDW app. Both are behind Face ID, 2-factor authentication, etc. The gift card is not in my e-mail (also behind 2-factor), it is not in my Disney Gift Card online account (also behind 2-factor).

I am honestly in shock. I understand that gift cards are treated like cash and I've taken every security measure possible to keep this information safe. The transaction is "WDW Merchandise Mobile Checkout". Someone used my gift card number to make purchases on property using their Disney account in their WDW app and Disney cannot help.

My only guess is this was the first trip I used WDW's public wifi network in the parks, which I was connected to when placing mobile orders. Never again.

I'm not sure what else to do other than to strongly caution everyone.
That's crazy! Are you going to file the police report? I would and I'd throw in an FTC complaint and a complaint to the FL AG just to have an outlet to vent. Doubt you'll shake anything out of course but who knows? It's crazy that Disney isn't willing to even investigate your complaint of fraud after you informed them and offered proof of ownership of the card!

I don't know enough about wifi and app security to speak to the public wifi thought (I avoid public wifi like the plague when possible). There is one spot we missed- someone getting a pic of your gift card when it was pulled up on your phone. Practically everyone has a phone in their hands when standing in a line, even at Disney. A discreet pic wouldn't be hard. In my Apple wallet the barcode and acct number are visible as well as the EAN in the upper left and the screen lights up nice and bright... yeah, I think it's definitely possible to snap a pic of someone's digital gc from an apple wallet if you're next to them in a line. I'm going to be sticking to physical gc in parks from now on. I've always been wary of someone getting a pic of my physical card making sure never to hold it with the numbers displayed out while in line but I had never thoroughly thought through the logistics of taking a pic of the e- version- it would be much easier.

Just took a little time playing with the theory by grabbing a pic of a DGC on my apple wallet using another person's older model SE phone. Arms length away side shot and it was a good enough image for all the data. Lovely. No more using these in park for me.

Update on Chase/giftcards.com thing - I got an email from them today, and they are crediting my account the cash back. Still do not know why that offer popped up as expired, but maybe that can just happen, like offers disappearing altogether after having been used (until tehy show as redeeemed). Still showing up as expired for me. But whatever! All's well that ends with me getting a $50 credit, amirite? :)

Did anyone else get a Target GC for your inconvenience during last week's issue with ordering online and the app? I answered their survey when I couldn’t access my orders and never got a confirmation email. I was frustrated but attributed the issue with their website getting slammed with traffic.

I got three emails early this morning apologizing for the inconvenience and they sent me a $20 eGC. It was very surprising as I did not expect any sort of compensation.
Yep, I got one. I used the app to purchase a pickup item during the outage on Friday. It was a pain because my order didn’t show in my account for 6 hours, so I wasn’t sure if it went through. Then it took about 12 hours for my pickup to be ready, but I didn’t reach out to Target or complete a survey. My guess is they sent an e-card to everyone who placed an online order during the outage.

I placed an online order for e-gift cards during the outage and I didn’t receive the $20 email so maybe for just order pick ups.

My Target $20 off $100 seems to specifically exempt gift cards. Does that mean all gift cards? Or just target ones?

BJs Disney gift cards currently have an additional "instant savings" which provide a couple more % off. Looks like that extra ends 12/24.

Historically, is that IT for the bonus discount for gift cards for BJ's until next season? I'd rather wait until January to purchase, since I need a lot for DVC dues, but struggling to decide. . . or any other source for more than 5% either now or typical after the first of the year?
BJ's purchases can be paid with Paypal+Chase Freedom for 5%.

I also have Citi offers for BJ's Wholesale Club 5% Back (plus whatever your base spend reward is) up to $6 ($120 in spend). Ideal use of Citi offer would be $93.99 for $100 Disney Gift Card or $141.49 for a $150 gift card.

BJs doesn't get as high a % off as some places, but will quite frequently get you over 5% throughout the year. Sams club usually offers 10% off twice a year, but limits you to $800 worth of cards each time. BJs has no limits to how much you can purchase (there might be one but I never reached it). I think the highest I've seen BJs do is 6-7.5%, but if you can time it with a 5% offer from chase or Discover it will make it around 10%. Currently Chase Freedom has 5% PayPal purchases (which BJs takes), and next quarter Discover has 5% off wholesale clubs, limit $1500 worth of purchases on each offer.

We have both BJs and Sam's, they are literally across the street from each other about 2 miles from my house. We buy the Sams club offer when available, and supplement it throughout the year when BJs has a decent percent and it corresponds with a CC offer or BJs coupons.

Thank you! One thing to note. This time it's "10% off $100 and above." They have $200 cards too and they ring up $180.
I missed that at first and bought one for $100. Then I figured it out and bought four $200 cards for $180 each before it stopped me. Used two different credit cards, May reset tomorrow.

Same I got one. I hadn’t done an order pick up in a long time and just happened to do one that morning to save time shopping. It was a nice surprise to get the $20.
