Gave myself a heart attack today....10/10 do NOT recommend....

I did the "pay in 4" PayPal offer and went through Disney Shopping to buy a $500 e-gift card to finish off my annual dues. If I don't get any rebate or points, I figure I am only "out" $25 because I would have just bought it at Target for $475 so it was worth the gamble. Well, all went fine....I got the "confirmation" from PayPal that my 10,000 points are pending (Ok, I know they can still be taken back) and I got the confirmation e-mail from Disney shopping that my gift card had been sent....but no gift card....hmmm. That is very unusual because I always get the gift card before the confirmation. I went back and read my order confirmation and I almost died....
I mistyped the email address!!:scared1: Instead of xxxxx@comcast.net, I typed xxxxx@cocmast.net :eek: I immediately called the customer service line and, of course, "all castmembers are busy assisting other customers", so I got to listen to about 30 minutes of upbeat DIsney tunes while I was freaking out and pacing the floor. When someone finally came on the line, I explained what I had done and I was pleasantly surprised when he was able to re-issue a gift card to the correct address which I received about 30 minutes later:thumbsup2. Whew! Lesson learned...I will triple check my fat fingers and type extra slow when ordering my e-gift cards from now on! I also sent an e-mail to xxxxx@cocmast.net and told her to enjoy the gift card:laughing:

Same exact thing happened to me. I ordered three gift card for $1250 and typed the wrong email address on one. After 30 minutes of trying to get them to simply correct it or deactivate and send a new one they said they could not. So I had them cancel the entire order and deactivate the three cards that were emailed, including the 2 that correctly made it to me.

The order took a day or two but got refunded at Disney.
The credit went back to paypal
The pay in 4 got marked as paid in full
It said my original payment of 312.50 taken out of my bank account was 'pending'
Paypal Phone customer support was actually extremely helpful and they explained that the credit would come in the form of paypal 'rewards' that I could transfer back to my checking account for free, but they had to wait 5 days for the credit payment to clear. Once it did, I was able to transfer the money back to my checking account that I had used for the first pay in 4 payment.

Took a while, but it all worked out.

Since the pay in 4 was still active, I activated the disney 10% offer again and did the whole transaction again at Disney using the paypal pay in 4 but selected physical cards this time to be safe. All cards received and all points pending in paypal as they should.

I documented my sad saga in a few posts that got buried a few pages ago.

Now I just hope they actually go through for $$ to send to my checking account like everyone else.

Glad it all worked out better for you than it did for me. They would not just send a new card and made me go through that entire process.

As a postscript, the Disney help desk was entirely unhelpful. Every time I had a question or suggested a way to resolve, they put me on hold and would come back and say they spoke to someone and could not do it. I really wish they would have transferred me to someone who knew what they were doing. Not only would it probably have been corrected, but even if it didn't, it would have been a lot faster. Nothing like being put on hold repeatedly when the person talking to you is simply reading off a screen with no comprehension of what they are actually doing or saying.

I had a similar issue with Disney support when I called in about a different gift card order and why it had not been shipped. The person just kept parroting that it was 'shipped', even though all that meant was that the label was created and the post office had not even picked it up a week after ordering. They could not see the tracking status that I could so they just kep insisting that is was shipped.

WHen I called a different time, the person was able to see the tracking status that showed it had not been picked up yet and was able to note that it seemed like an issue. Fortuately, the status was updated the next day that it had been [icked up and eventually got the cards, but 2 different calls and 2 different experiences. Not the best customer service from Disney.

Not to mention that the gift cards I ordered from giftcards.com came faster than the ones I ordered from Diseny, but that is a separate issue.

Me too, but only for the 25,000 pay in 4 redemption. There should be an additional 12,500 for the Disney offer as well, correct (I bought $1250 worth of cards)? The pay in 4 still says I have 37,500 points pending FWIW.

Hope that is just delayed and not them denying it. 20% is still good, but wouldn't hurt to get the additional 10%.

Will be interesting to see what happens with others. Also, should I go ahead and redeem this back to my checking account now or wait to see if more comes through? I'm assuming redeem and then redeem again if more come through but am curious what peoople think and if it it would be better to wait for any reason to see if the rest comes through.

Disney Store's customer service is abysmal! I've had numerous issues this year and when asking for a supervisor I have had the same issue where they put me on hold and tell me they can only do X after checking with someone.

One time I was finally transferred after 30+ minutes and the person posed as a supervisor. She finally informed me she wasn't a supervisor when she couldn't resolve my issue. It's truly mind blowing!
 
Do you have to have paid off the pay in 4 to get the points? Don’t have mine yet from 11/18 purchase but I didn’t bother paying it off early
