NEW Disney Gift Card Deals and More.

Add us to two more folks who got the $130 x 3 for $40. Do you think Target is testing NOT doing a targeted drop this time, just giving it to everyone, and seeing how that goes?

Mine is 2 x $90 for $20

No, the 4 accounts among my family members have 2 purchases of $90 to get $20 (2 accounts have this one), 2 purchases of $50 to get $10, and only 1 account has the $130 x 3 for $40.

So it is different targeted offers like always.

As always, I’m grateful for this thread. I saw the reports of Target bonus offers, so we checked our accounts immediately. DH has 2 purchases of $90+ for $20 and I have 3 purchases of $90+ for $30. We just bought a $100 DGC each to get started, and when we finish we’ll have another $500 in DGCs to add to our D.V.C. dues savings. Thanks!
I got earn $20 with shop 2x's with purchases of $90 or more -- I NEVER get Target bonuses! Wahoo!

At what point do you stop hoarding DGCs? I'm probably paid up through 2027 with what I have accumulated and thinking I can stop chasing all the offers to maximize savings because right now, these cards are sitting in a drawer doing nothing, meanwhile my life savings are draining away. What's the magic % that makes it worth it to you to keep chasing?

I don’t need a ton of GC since I only take one solo resort only trip per year. I only go after deals that are 15% off or higher, and that’s if I have the money available in my travel account. If I don’t, then I don’t buy unless it is over a 20% savings and then I will pull that from somewhere else to cover it, if needed (hardly ever the case).

Good question. I have paused previously in years when I was not needing as much, or became more selective (like only if the discount is a certain percentage). I think of it as: if the money would earn more or about the same in a HYSA between the date of the promotion and the date I would have the Disney expenditures, I would not go after a deal. That's for trips/expenses in the coming year or part of the following.

Beyond a year and a half (or so) of Disney-money-needs, I also consider the fact that it's better to have savings than discounted DGCs, especially rn that the future seems uncertain. In your case, if you don't need more until 2027, I would not keep at it. Save the money. Life can take turns unexpectedly.

This is a good point as well. My previous message came from the perspective of someone who has large expenses yearly for trips--usually at least one week at WDW or DL, plus a Disney Cruise, DVC dues, and some online shopping. DH and I sometimes bring one or both of our moms as they are ageing/have health issues and we want to make them happy while we have them, so that sometimes means a second cabin on the cruise or more need for WDW dining money, etc. It takes time to build up enough to cover it all, so my threshold for discounts is lower (>10%), but if I were doing only one trip and that's it, I would do what you do!

First of all, this is very impressive!

Second, for what it’s worth, my strategy is to fund Disney expenses with DGCs a year in advance. So, I funded 2025 expenses in 2024 and am currently working on 2026. This for basically the reasons @Duckbug.Ducktales mentions. That said, once I hit my target for
the year I mentally raise my hurdle rate from 10% to at least 15% as @COP mentions and occasionally will pick up a few cards here and there.

If I were in your (fortunate) situation I would stop buying for a while or buy very occasionally and selectively.

For the Target Circle 3 x $130 purchases and get $40 back, can those orders be online DGCs that are emailed to you? Or do they have to be in-store purchases of the DGCs? TIA

Yes, emailed DGCs count toward your purchase (and at the full price too, not accounting for the potential 5% discount if you have the Red card)

We think this most recent Target bonus brought us up to enough to cover our 2026 D.V.C. dues, so now we’re saving for our WDW trip in January. We buy only if the savings are greater than the 5% we can save with the Target Circle card.

I’m a DVC member with over $2000 in annual dues. My additional daily costs at Disney resorts is approximately $150 per day. I’m always buying DGC. I try to buy at 12% savings or more unless I need cards right away. If you’re paid up then you should stop buying unless you see a particularly good deal.

Quick ? Probably been asked before sorry
If I have a Target order I’m going to place to try and earn Target circle bonus. Will using Target circle rewards to pay for said order effect getting the bonus I’m going for?

You can stack this savings with the 5% cash back Discover It card. The 2nd Quarter 5% cash back categories are grocery stores and warehouse clubs!
Yes! Stack with a good cash back card! I Wish Costco would bring their 10% off cards back!

That’s their normal every day price for the $200 card ($190).
I thought it was closer to 2-3% normally at Sams, but dont pay too much attention. We usually wait for a retailer to drop 10% off but looks like its not happening anytime soon unfortunately! At least we can stack a good cash back card at Sams vs. using the RedCard at Target so that helps!
