Just got my Sam's instant savings book valid from Oct 30-Dec 1. $200 DGCs are on sale for $180 during the doorbuster weekend Nov 1-3. Limit 4, online only.

Hold on... I'm looking at Page 8 of the Sam's Instant Savings book and see that they're $190, not $180. Was it changed?

I have a silly Sam’s club question. Will the door buster deal for the 200 for 180 be available exactly at midnight after Halloween is over, or do they have a certain time (East coast?) that they start. I want to make sure to be online to snag 4 to basically finish up paying off my cruise for next year .

I'm not 100% sure, as I just signed up for a Sam's Club membership a couple of days ago to buy these gift cards, so I'm not familiar with how Sam's Club works But below the gift cards it states that they are excluded from Plus early access.

Below that, at the very bottom of the page, it says that offers start Oct. 31 at 9pm ET. Plus member access starts 2 hours prior.

So I guess we'll see. I have a calendar notification at 8pm CT, and again at 11pm CT

Thank you for that. I'm not sure I have faith that things will go exactly according to plan on the Sam's Club side. If you distribute a Doorbuster flyer to advertise discounted prices in the main banner of your homepage, you should probably confirm that the correct, more enticing pricing is shown. Either that, or there's confusion on the Social Media team side and they're the ones with incorrect information.

This, plus the non-existent GC buying limit last time doesn't inspire much confidence that a) The promo will go live as scheduled and b) pricing will actually be $180 instead of what's listed.

I would love to know if BJ's and Costco plan to offer better GC deals for BF. Right now BJ's has the $500 card for $474.99 but last year they had it for $470

Same here. The $474.99 deal now is pretty regular and I'm holding out for a little better closer to BF because I'm paying for 5 adults, tickets for 3 of them, in March and every penny counts! I think I'll go for 4 of the $200 GCs from Sam's too. Already have my Southwest GCs that were $429 to pay for the flights and I have enough RR points to cover everyone for free at least one way. I'm never doing this again!

Sam's Club is offering a $60 credit when you apply for their card and spend $30. Two questions, does that spend include purchasing a Southwest gift card, and then can I use that $60 credit (how soon does that load?) to purchase another Southwest card? Thanks!

So good luck with purchasing the SWA $500 GC at sale price $429 at Sam’s Club today…I went in at 1:00pm and there was an entire display from SWA at the end of the aisle where most of the gift cards were on display. Lots of spaces each with a few SWA gift cards looks like they were trying to spread them out…wish I’d taken a photo! There was a small card above each space all showing price of 429.99.
So I purchased my card and when I got out to car I looked at my receipt and realized I had been charged $249.99. I immediately went back into store and confirmed the price. Then I got in guest services line w/4 people ahead of me and 2 employees behind counter. I waited 12 min til it was my turn and then after I explained situation the employee told me I had to wait for the other employee to help me. I wanted 10 more minutes for that employee to finish with customer. She told she would check and be right back. Another 11 minutes waiting and she came back and told she had to call a manager. So I had to wait for manager and then he finally came and took my gift card and receipt and disappeared for 15 minutes. Then he came back and told me he couldn’t refund a gift card and re-ring it so he had to give a $20 refund and went off again with my card and receipt. I was really getting upset that it was taking so long it was ridiculous I asked the girl behind counter to call a manager and she replied “you already have a manager”. I was so mad I forget to watch how many minutes he was gone this time but it felt like forever. He finally came back and had me sign a receipt for the refund and gave me the $20. Then he (manager) informs me that you have to purchase the gift card online that the store system isn’t set up for the sale price and he is making an exception for me. I’m afraid I lost it at that point. I raised my voice and said “that’s ridiculous the sale price is right on display above every spot holding the SWA cards and your sale flyer says the cards are only available in store and e-cards are online.” He just repeated that the store system wasn’t set up with sale price. I hope people check their receipts before getting all the way home,

Couldn’t expire sale hasn’t even started yet! I have sale booklet mailed to me and it definitely says $180

Thrilled to hear this! I belong to BJs, but their "sales, lol" are not the best. I actually joined Sam's when membership was offered at $20, so this was pretty nice! I will keep my eyes open, thank you! Also, is the $180 Disney GC only for plus members?

If your ire is really up check your state laws on bait and switch. Some states it’s illegal to post one price and charge another and you can report the store and incident to the state AG/Consumer Protection.

I don’t think this is a case of bait & switch….it’s a case of their tech people didn’t load the sale price into their computer system so when they scan the gift card it shows regular price. Also the manager obviously has no business being a manager if he can’t figure out how to resolve the situation in less than an hour!
I can’t be the only person who tried to purchase a SWA gift card in store today
