NEW Disney Gift Card Deals and More.

According to DOC the $10 shopping coupon on $50 Disney card purchases is back at Safeway/Albertsons stores. Depending on region this goes until 5/12 or 5/14. Best time to buy is over the weekend with 4x points on gift card purchases. Recently the printed coupons no longer work at self check out which is a bit of a pain but for effective ~21% discount including the points I'll pick up several.

I just got a email if I use my Target Mastercard at places besides target and spend 750 this month I’ll get a $75 target giftcard. I’m planning to use it at BJs to buy discounted Disney giftcards. Just wanted to share!
I did not get targeted (at least not yet). Curious if you use your card outside of Target much?

I rarely do, just a couple times a year so they don't think about trying to convert it to a store card! I typically use it as a backup on international trips because of the chip & pin ( although with tap to pay everywhere now that's not as big an issue as it was). So I have a couple small charges from places that didn't take AmEx last month. I wonder if that decreases my chances. Although I've still not earned enough to redeem a GC yet... ever!

We got the same offer. Have never used the card outside of Target, I didn't even think they could change the card to a store card!

Oh well look at that. $500 Disney digital gift cards are back in stock on Sam’s Club dot com. Did they really run out or just severely limit their sale. Bait and switch. Should be a crime

I actually wouldn’t be surprised if someone complained to the NY AG about the Sam’s sale. The AG department has gone after other stores over the years for deceptive advertising. No, they don’t need to have unlimited amounts of the advertised item. But Sam’s seemed to have NO gift cards available on the actual sale date. . And no, presale to plus members doesn’t count. It wasn’t advertised as a plus member exclusive. It was advertised as available to the general membership.

All the gift card stores that sell gift cards online and put them on sale severely limit the amount that they sell, probably because they only get a limited amount of them on sale from the manufacturer/store. The Sam's Club ad clearly said on the bottom "While Supplies Last" and I'm pretty sure that is interpreted as the amount they have available at the sale price as I see stores do that all the time on Black Friday where they out of stock on the Doorbuster and the next day they are available at the regular price. (And the in store sale wasn't even advertised, so there probably have every right to limit the amount of those on sale.

So I don't think a complaint to your AG is going to go anywhere.

Personally, I find it way worse what giftcards.com does, where they limit the stock of the cards on sale and then when they run out it still lists the sale price on their website but the discount code doesn't work. Or what Staples does, where you buy the gift cards on sale and the order goes through and then 2 hours later they cancel your order because the egift cards are out of stock (Codewords for saying they sold more than they had available for the sale.)

Now, I have been saying for years that I don't understand the whole strategy of these sales - if they have such a limited amount of gift cards on sale and they know it is popular, they should at least limit it to 1 per person and allow double the amount of people to partake of the sale. I also find sales like this with such a limited amount end up angering more people than it does bring in customers.

You missed the point. It’s not that they ran out, that’s normal & expected. It’s that they seemingly had none available on the date the sale started. They very well could have limited the amount they had available for presale. But they advertised the sale as available to regular members then sold all inventory to plus members.

I'm not disagreeing, but their response to the AG would probably be they said limited quantity, and they sold out the limited quantity that they had. FWIW, Best Buy also does this on Black Friday where they have certain laptops as Black Friday Doorbuster deals with early access for Best Buy Plus members, and the laptop is sold out before it gets to the general sale.

I totally agree with you that this is a horrible way to run a business, and these types of sales end up harboring more resentment than good will, so I don't understand the point of them. The only thing I can see is the frenzy of publicity that this gets them - I mean, look at this site, we had 10 to 15 pages of comments about this deal which was only a 10% discount which is at the low end of a gift card deal discount. People seem to love the rush of being able to get a very limited deal.

Great idea! Mine says spend $250 outside of Target, earn a $25 gift card. Does the offer need to be activated like Target Circle offers or is it automatic?

Thanks... 3 of my 4 family accounts got a bonus. 2 accounts got $15 after spending $120 and 1 account got $20 after spending $180. Too bad I already used my teacher bonus earlier in the week.
I just looked again and another offer came up spend $200 and get $20. Not sure when it was added, but was not there on the 1st

I'm probably cancelling my Sam's membership. Like others, I never actually stepped foot into an actual warehouse, I just used it for the DGC deals. This latest deal was a bust. I don't have the time or the patience to drive to several different locations to hopefully find the deal. Congratulations to those who were able to score this round, but the juice hasn't been worth the squeeze.
I cancelled mine.

Except that Sam's specifically stated in advance that the sale was NOT available in advance to plus members, so that whatever limited quantity they had should have been available at the start of the general member sale. Instead, they sold out PRIOR to the stated start of the sale.

Awesome! I just checked and I have the $20 with $180 spend. :hippie:
Same! Weird that they're suddenly showing up on a Wednesday but I'll take it! So nice not to have to spend $300+ too!

For today's DG 20% gift card sale - is it only these three? It says "includes" but that could mean other stores are included as well...1778072658424.png

it's just those. We won't be getting Disney back. DG posted all these days at the end of last week. The only brands that have been on sale all week are Bath and Body Works, Wayfair, and maybe some others.
