NEW Disney Gift Card Deals and More.

Can you use these to buy DGCs or no? Also, is the sale simply fee free?
Depends on the retailer. I've been about to use these Visa to buy DGC at some, at others they check your ID, only allow cash, etc.

But, if you have a card that gets 5% at Staples, you could just buy DGC directly instead of adding a VGC middle man. What situation are you thinking where you'd benefit from buying the fee free VGC now and turning that into DGC elsewhere later?

Heads up: I just bought some e-DGC from Target. I received the emails promptly. However when I go the Target e-gift Center to retrieve them, when I enter my email I get an error message saying they are having technical difficulties. I ordered four cards and have only been able to access one. I chatted with customer service and they said many people are having difficulties accessing the e-giftcard center and to try again later. They wanted all kinds of info from me for "research purposes." I opted to just end the chat. Hopefully I can get the remaining three cards later today.

UPDATE: Kept trying and eventually was able to access the remaining three.

I didn't now if the sale was that they were fee free or if they were fee free and on sale. If it's just fee free, I can buy DGCs at Target for 5% off. I'm just trying to find the best bang for my buck to pay for Dopey in a couple weeks. I still lack $600 in gift cards.

Ah, OK, no, they just waive the activation fee, so $200 only costs $200 instead of $207.95. Several of us have credit cards that get 5% in points at office supply, so buying these allows you to turn other categories of spend into 5% categories, as long as you can use these to pay.

If you cash out with Swagbucks or other rebate sites like that, how can we use a MC or Visa gc to purchase a Disney gc?

I had a circle offer after 2 $130 purchases

yesterday I bought a $100 dgc mailed, a $25 dgc email and deoderant. before 5% circle discount it was $133. it's not showing as a purchase. anyone else?

I think sometimes when you receive an email DGC and a mailed DGC they sometimes consider those separate orders so then it doesn’t meet the minimum spend.

Every one of these rebate MC/Visa GC's are different so it is impossible to say where one will work and one won't. However, I have found over the last year or two that there are more and more places these seem not to work at. It feels like these rebate companies purposely send you a visa/mc egift card that doesn't work at lots of places in the hopes that you will give up and just not use them.

Has anyone had issues with getting Rakuten cash back on big ticket orders through Viator?

I was gonna quote a previous post, but it was in the old Gift Card thread, so I will just give a general gist.

Back in January, I got in on that big Viator cash back deal. However, the tickets themselves were for December, so I knew I would not be receiving anything till that date, which is fine.

Well, I never received the cash back, so I messaged support. It took about 3 weeks, but they finally came back and said Viator was not approving the cash back, and gave a list of reasons why it's possible they are denying the money. I told Rakuten that I have used Viator through Rakuten numerous times and never had trouble getting the cash back. So, it seemed "coincidental" that the one time I am due back a significant sum of money ($250), is the one time I am having issues getting cash back.

So Rakuten went back to Viator. Eventually, they came back to me and said they were offering me a $100 credit as a courtesy, but that Viator indicated that I received credits through another site.....which is untrue. "Viator responded to our request for payment to inform us that no commission would be paid to Rakuten because credit for this order was awarded to someone other than Rakuten. Since orders are private transactions between you and the store, Rakuten is not provided with any additional or more specific information."

Anyone else run into this, or any tips on getting it resolved?

How much time do you want to spend on this knowing your odds of receiving anymore money is practically zero? You can go straight to Viator and demand they tell Rakuten the truth, if they won't and you have a state attorney general with a consumer complaints division you can file a complaint. Aside from Small Claims that's pretty much the only other "resolution" I see.

Good reminder cashback portals are "gravy" and should not be considered realized savings until the cashback has been rewarded. Bummer you're getting screwed, interesting that it is (supposedly) Viator doing it and not Rakuten.

Me but with RetailMeNot! Bought Disneyland Paris tickets that didn't post. I reached out a month later asking and was told that "cash back rewards take up to 45 days from the date of purchase to fully process and for the qualifying Reward to be added into your RetailMeNot account upon approval. Our system does not allow us to update your activation status during this time. It may take the full 45 days to process completely. If you see inaccurate information, please do not worry as we may not have complete detail from the Viator yet.

Good reminder since I didn't follow up at the 45 day mark but will try again now...

And two minutes after sending them a follow-up email, cash back was approved! Great lesson to always follow up and truly YMMV!!!

circle bonus shows one shopping trip completed
now to do the 2nd! $35 after 2x $130
whoever mentioned saving target cash, thank you. I'll let it accrue and use it for holiday shopping or a big household needs purchase
Yes. I have used them on expensive Xbox and Apple products for grandkids.

Interesting! I know I do multiple online orders on the same day right after the previous and it delivers, but never attempted in-store. I am sorry that happened.
Oops my 2nd order didn’t show up because it included a $50 Target gift card and I totally forgot that Target gift cards are excluded from Target Circle Bonus offers…🤦🏻‍♀️
