This is what I was trying to do! Declined.
How long must I wait for this hold to fall off. It's absurd.
That is just bonkers. I was ready to let the .10 go, but now my $50 Starbucks reload is pending as $60. Hopefully that doesn't take two weeks! I'm never buying these again.
With all prepaid cards, the hold is generally for 1 - 2 weeks. I once by mistake put the wrong address when trying to use a prepaid to reload my tolls balance on E-Z Pass (the system used for tolls in the NorthEast) and even though the payment was declined, it took around 2 weeks for the temporary hold to go away.
It is also worth noting, that many companies specifically write that they don't accept prepaid cards as payment (especially companies that sell gift cards like Raise GCX, Fluz, etc.) and the reason they give for not accepting them is that they have issues refunding money to them because a lot of people will throw the prepaid card out after is used. Some companies will also not accept them because of fraud issues.
