NEW Disney Gift Card Deals and More.

@smrt1 bought quite a few GC.com cards, so should have a DP at some point!
What is a DP? So far I’ve received $900 worth of giftcards.com “cards” in my email. I think one of my $300 transactions was cancelled, but I received an email saying that I have another “gift” coming my way, so that should bring me to a total of $1200. We’ll see. This is a major PITA. I am really worried I am going to have trouble when I try to buy the DGCs at 10% off. I’ll keep you in the loop.

DP = data point

I wouldn't worry. A very similar deal was going on around Black Friday, and it worked fine.

As far as the PITA part, you have to decide for yourself if the juice is worth the squeeze. Some really enjoy the thrill of the hunt when it comes to these deals. It's not for everyone.

As outlined by @FoxC63 above, I purchased a physical $108.90 DGC for ~$83.70 (~23% off).
  1. Purchased $100 GiftCards . com eGift card for $90 using code GIVEGC10.
  2. Used Chase Freedom through Paypal for 5% back on the $90 ($4.50 back).
  3. Also clicked through Chase Ultimate Rewards portal for 2pts/dollar (points are worth ~$0.01, so $1.80 back).
  4. Used $100 GiftCards . com eGift card to buy a $108.90 using code GCWEEK10 (Shipping is $1.99, but the code took 10% off that too).

I just purchased a 3 separate $100 giftcards.com GC for $270 (went thru Rakuten also). Did it in one transaction.

Can only apply 1 giftcards.com GC to each order so when I went to buy the DGC I had to do 3 orders. I bought 3 separate $108 DGC using each of the $100 from above, plus $1.99 shipping. Ended up with a balance of 81 cents left on each card. Also went thru Rakuten.

So all in all $324 DGC for $270. That's a savings of 16% plus possibly Rakuten double dipped at 2.5%

There may have been an easier way but that's just what I went with to avoid some previously mentioned issues.

Yeah, so I just learned too that it’s one giftcards.com card per purchase. So I now have to purchase 12 separate $100 cards plus pay shipping. The two plus hours I’ve put into this probably were not worth it. It wants me to pay $8.95 per card for shipping, so I just spent hours to save barely anything.

if you don't want the tracking then it's $1.99

I'm saving 18% with the discount, CC offer and cash back portal. Not sure if I'm going to get any DGC yet, there are other gc's on sale that I can definitely can use....

Does not allow me to buy DGCs with the giftcards, com cards, at least not with the 10% off. I just spent $1080 for gift cards that I have no use for. I’m assuming I can use them to buy DGCs without the discount, so now instead of spending 8.95 for shipping all the DGCs I could’ve bought using just my credit card, I now need to spend $23.88 for shipping, not to mention the hours I just spent trying to get all this worked out. If I bought outright with my credit card, $1,200 in DGCs would’ve cost $1,088.95 after shipping. Buying the gift cardscards.com first cost me $1,103.88, plus a ton of effort. Basically I just paid about $15 to spend three hours fighting with a website. Total waste of time and money, don’t do it.

For me personally, if I am not familiar with an offer or a website, I always do a test purchase to see if its worth doing or wait for some DPs to roll in. I think that is the nature of the game in looking for deals on discounted GCs. Some deals require more hoops to jump through then I am personally interested in doing.

I just tried to buy DGCs with the giftcards.com cards without using the discount and it still won’t allow me. If I can’t get this to work I’m screwed. The money I had put aside for my Marathon weekend trip is now all in giftcards.com cards, which apparently are completely useless. Without that money the trip is off.

As mentioned above, you can choose the $1.99 shipping method.

What do you mean when you say it “does not allow” you to buy Disney gift cards with the giftcards .com e-gift card? Are you putting the correct promo code in (GCWEEK10)? If so, does it display an error message when you put it in?

BINGO! I always test the waters first. Like that old adage- pigs get fat, hogs get slaughtered. Reminds me to take a beat on gc deal for a better analysis, you don’t last long chasing deals if you go all-in on the first pretty looking deal you see…

With any merchant multiple transactions can throw red flags of fraud that will lock you out anywhere from an hour to weeks. With the amount PP said they tried to buy this outcome is not sadly not surprising.

That’s possible, but it’s hard to say that’s what has happened without more info.

I jut used one with the discount and it worked... any luck?

No. I spoke to someone at their customer service. There was quite a bit of a language barrier, so it made things even more complicated. I was able to have them return the giftcards.com cards that I bought. To answer another users question about what happened, I have no idea and neither did the person I spoke to. I would go through the whole purchase process, it would say “Congratulations….,” and the screen would refresh and say that they can’t process my order. At this point I’ve had enough and I’ve wasted too much time. I’m just glad to get a refund. I’ll try buying DGCs from them with the 10% off using my credit card. If that doesn’t work, I’m going to Target.
