Discover 5% Bonus Categories for Q1​

Discover has revealed the 5% Cashback Bonus categories for the first quarter of 2025. Beginning January 1st, Discover it and Discover More (no longer available) cardmembers can earn 5% Cashback Bonus at Restaurants, Home Improvement Stores, and Select Streaming Services. I believe I'm all caught up!

This holiday shopping season hasn't been the typical for us.
We've been more centered on this intense phobia I have of severe weather so stocking up on food, medicines and gardening have been my primary focus. DH has been tightening things around the home, he bought 2 more 400W ecoflow solar panels and is looking into the 4000 dual fuel.
We're pretty solid in other areas.

These are the vertical planters I bought during BF at GreenStalk Garden. It was a crazy good deal. I bought four, two in each color.

Payment is processed by a third party when buying online. Will not code properly. In-restaurant is your best bet.

Lidl is running their gift card promo from12/11 - 12/17 for $20 when purchasing $100 in gift cards. I do not see any gift cards like Visa being excluded (only exclusion they say is Lidl gift cards), and they even show Visa in the picture in their ad. Pair this with the Amex offer for $15 back on a $50 purchase at Lidl.

Sunday is what works for our family food shopping for the week, so it is what it is. It's been a few years now since I had this issue and I pretty much always do the promotion when it includes DGC. Perhaps they've gotten better of late, although they're clearly not at 100%.

Well, I purchased a $100 One4All Ultimate gift card today and the $20 voucher did not print. I guess my strategy of not purchasing on the first day didn't work. I think the reason it didn't work was I took one of the new holiday edition gift cards which were probably not coded as gift cards in their system.

In any case, they did handwrite the code on my receipt. I really hope this doesn't become a pain like last year, since the Shoprite I bought this at is not near my house, and last year when they handwrote the code and I tried to redeem it at a different Shoprite, they didn't want to accept the code since it was handwritten and they didn't know the person who wrote the code. They finally called over a manager who told them to try it and if the system accepts the code, then it is okay. Major pain, and I hope that doesn't happen again.

I wish! I never have enough. I just bought a lot of DGCs from BJs for the trip I'm on now and I thought I'd have leftover funds since this is a short trip - and I'm probably going to have to buy a few eDGCs from Target to top up.

My DVC dues are going to have to go to credit card since they announced they're getting rid of the ability to pay monthly with gift cards.

Last year, the coupon was valid for around a month. The coupon posts in your app, so make sure to show your app if you are going to get the coupon.

As far as using it all at once, I don't remember anything specific, but I am going to assume you have to use it at once which is pretty much the way coupons work at most other stores.

Also to add, according to posters on Doc, last year if you used the coupon on items that were on sale, the system charged you full price on those items (at least at self checkout), so just beware of that.
