NEW Disney Gift Card Deals and More.

There's no way they're taking a loss on that many GCs which means even if that deal was at their cost price it's insane that other major retailers only have a few percentage points off as their normal sales. Assuming others like BJs and Sam's can get it at the same pricing as BB they should routinely be putting them on sale for at least 10% off. Unless they have to get some sort of permission from Disney for that...who knows the logistics.

Dang, they canceled one of our orders. I’m guessing that’s my mistake for using the same credit card on both mine and my wife’s Best Buy account. Unless they canceled it due to having the same billing address.

"Unfortunately, we had to cancel your order because it has exceeded our orderable quantity limits." Only purchased one per account.
DH ordered from his account using his BB card, I ordered from mine using a different CC. We both got confirmation emails, then DH got the same cancellation email you did. Grrr. 😡

Oh well, at least we got one. The $100 has already been transferred to a physical DGC, so it’s safely in our possession, nothing left in cyberspace.

I agree with the buying power of Sam's and BJ's you would think they could offer more of a discount.

Meijer is the only place I've seen where I can regularly get a 10-20% savings without factoring in credit card points.

I guess it's possible that Disney has to give permission to go beyond a certain percentage off? And I really doubt BB took a loss today on those. Costco is the only company I know that is willing to sell a loss leader like their rotisserie chickens but that brings a lot of customers into the physical store. Nobody is sticking around Bestbuy.com to shop because they opened the app just for the DGC. So in my mind I now assume Disney sells their gift cards in bulk for 20% off to major retailers.

BB terms and conditions state the following "At any time after receipt of your order, we may accept, decline, or place quantity or other limits on your order for any reason. We may impose these limits on a per-person, per-household, per-order, or any other basis." So maybe they canceled these orders because of the per-household rule.

Big thanks to everybody on these forums who help each other out :)

With the BJ's sales and the Best Buy sale today, I was able to get $300 worth of Disney GC's for $267.92! My mom & I take mother/daughter trips every 2 years and the sales I find out about on here really help us get to do Disney our way and save money doing it, so thanks a bunch!! :thanks:

It has not always been $100. Last year it was the $50 gc for $45. I just looked at my email from December 2023.

it's always been the $100. The alert is that the deal drops at 11am EST.

I believe @misssue23 was referring to this particular deal which was posted a long time ago as seen on Post #2

Maybe, if they matched the home addresses on the two different accounts or on the credit cards? The cancellation email arrived literally one minute after the confirmation email did.

But again, we’re happy we got one, at least!

I was glad I was able to get one. I tried to also get the Playstation controller and Playstaiton 5 console, the 30th anniversary versions, and it seemed so messy. I got on it right on time, and it would sometimes say it wasn't available even 1 minute after the start. Then it would put me in line, and with the controller I sat in line and it just said they were sold out, this was by 2 or 3 minutes after the start. Just insane.

The console was even more annoying, it put me in line, but would then say "none are available for shipping" and have me select my zip code, to just tell me none are available within 250 miles. It wasn't for five minutes or so before it actually said sold out.

These drops are generally cool, but it's such a terrible system with no obvious method to the madness when it comes to the super popular drops. I almost wish they would just give everyone a 30 minute window to submit their "entry" into a lottery and then just draw however many of that product they have to sell and give people that get selected 24 hours to buy, however many don't it moves on.

It would both help cut down on the advantage that scalpers get if they use bots and it would rely less on the already lottery they have of whoever manages to get a connection first when their servers get slammed by thousands of people trying to get in in the first 30 seconds.

Did you or anyone happen to get the 20 back in rewards on 200 for just ordering the gift cards? It seems there was some confusion as to whether that would work or not.

Last year the limit per day was 3. But I was able to do them multiple days with the same account.
The $50 for $40 DGC last year was a different deal then the one that went live today. That deal was a multi day sale allowing you to get multiple cards. If you had a BB Business account you could get 9 per day. I believe last year they also did the same deal they did today for the $100 cards but you were limited to one.
