NEW Disney Gift Card Deals and More.

Question paying with DGC in Apple Wallet: I attempted to purchase a LLSP for Guardians this morning and selected "Apple Pay". Since the DGC isn't officially a "form of payment" it was loaded into my wallet along with my AAA card and other store reward cards. When I selected Apple Pay it didn't appear as an option to pay with the Gift card. I didn't have time to try to figure it out. So after a couple attempts I had to pay with my Disney visa. Is there a trick to make this work? I can see I can access a bar code from the wallet to scan in person but I wanted to be able to use it for mobile order. Anyone done that successfully?

Does anyone know if tickets bought at boardwalkticketing would qualify for BoA online shopping category? I have 6 day and 7 day hoppers I need to buy for my party. I’ve already used the PayPal/Chase offer for DGC at BJ’s.

I came to share my Hy-Vee haul.

I had some Hy-Vee gifts cards that were languishing in my Hy-Vee wallet from the last promo which was a YEAR AGO. I rarely shop at Hy-Vee so I had a couple of them that were hanging around. I had a $100 Hy-Vee gift card, a $52.83 gift card and a $40 gift card.

Hy-Vee 1 did not have Disney cards. Boo! Hiss!

Hy-Vee 2 did have Disney cards. I bought $450 and I was able to use my $100 Hy-Vee card on it! I received $60 in new Hy-Vee gift cards. I added them to my wallet.

Hy-Vee 3 also had Disney cards. I bought $450 and used the $92.83 in old left over Hy-Vee gift cards PLUS the $60 I added to my wallet. I received $60 in new Hy-Vee gift cards.

Disney gift cards: $900
Old gift cards I really wasn't using: $192.83
New gift cards added to wallet and used: $60
Amount changed to my Fidelity card at 2% cash back: $647.17 (savings of about $13)
I still have $60 in Hy-Vee gift cards to use in the future.

So, $634 OOP for $900 worth of Disney gift cards. Not bad :).

Now off to buy a couple from giftcards.com .
I bought 4 DGC @ $450, netting $240 in Hyvee gift cards to pay for AP x2. No idea those could be used on additional Disney gift cards! I spent 1/2 for this weeks groceries and some toiletries I’m going to need for the trip. Got a free tank of gas out of the deal plus cash back on my usbank card so felt I did pretty good. Guess I’ll use the remaining $120 towards another DGC.

It doesn’t work with Apple Pay, it is just in your wallet and can be scanned in person like at WDW stores. For Mobile Order, in the MDE App you could scan the barcode in the wallet, but you would need a second device. One to display the QR code and one to scan it.

I usually buy physical gift cards from DisneyStore or in person at the parks which have this QR code on them and use that. Works for Mobile Order and I don’t have to either type in the code myself or have it stored in my phone to cut/paste.

You did great! I would have bought more, but I didn't want to earn too many Hy-Vee gift cards since I don't shop there often. Also, I was unable to fly under the radar at either store and my purchases were commented on by the managers who approved the purchase. One manager chatted with me about how his family owned an orange grove that Animal Kingdom was built on and he had a "white card" AP growing up. The second manager was so impressed by my use of the Hy-Vee gift cards she said, "You're getting a great deal!". I couldn't go back for more once I figured I could add the $20 Hy-Vee gift cards back into my wallet to use since I couldn't fly under the radar. I will probably use the remaining $60 on a DGC later.

For everyone planning to buy their $100 card at Shoprite this week, check your receipt. As of about 12:30pm today (12/1), the code wasn’t printing. Per customer service desk at my local store, they are aware and they’ve alerted Wakefern. In the meantime, they handwrote the code that the cashier will need next week to give me my $20 off. If you don’t *have* to do your Shoprite run early in the week, might be worth waiting so that it just prints organically once the error is fixed.

What’s the code? When I went this morning I got a handwritten note, but no code number.

Shoprite IT is similar to Disney’s😂

I learned over the years with Shoprite to never buy the gift card promotion on the first day, since around half the time it doesn't work properly. It is also why many other stores started doing their promotions from Friday to Thursday instead of starting on Sunday when no one is in the corporate office to fix any mistakes in the new week.

Thank you for clarifying! I actually have most of my balances on physical gift cards and usually type in the numbers. Not sure if my cards have a QR code to scan. I'll have to check (they're packed right now). Thank you for clarifying.

Sunday is what works for our family food shopping for the week, so it is what it is. It's been a few years now since I had this issue and I pretty much always do the promotion when it includes DGC. Perhaps they've gotten better of late, although they're clearly not at 100%.

Apparently my local CVS has been sitting on DGC for a minute. Went and used my Chase offer yesterday (tracked with Rakuten in store, which was a nice surprise) and they had the old Frozen Gang cards that are real plastic and only a 4 digit EAN. Can't remember the last time I've seen one of those in store, but glad to have another plastic card instead of the darn cardboard that seem to be taking over.

That is what I bought yesterday too!!

Found an amex offer today for use apple pay, get $5 back on a $50 purchase. Good 3x this month. I use these at Meijer for the Disney gift cards. Meijer has the 5,000 point offer for $50 cards. Spend $50x3, get 15,000 points($15), and $15 back. $150 in Disney gift cards down to $120.

I noticed an Amex offer today on some of my cards. Spend $300 at BJ's Wholesale club get a $60 credit. That stacks pretty well with their current gift card discounts!
Got this on two of my cards. Plus the general BJs website promo of spend 200 get 20 in rewards I'm purchasing 2 of the 150 cards plus something else I need to bring total over 300. For one order with the 20 back that'll be effectively getting 300 in DGCs for 220. Not bad! Then I'll do the same with the other AMEX card but I am assuming the "Spend 200 get 20 in rewards" is a one time use only but I'll take the 300 in DGCs for 240 on that! AMEX coming through big this Cyber Monday.

check the fine print for BJ's, may not be used on gift cards
I just got back from there, there is a sign in store that the $20 reward is also available if using expresspay in store, discloser did show gift cards excluded
I easily purchased over $200 worth of items, I should be able to use the $20 reward when it hits my account towards a gift card

Did you get rakuten credit for the in store purchase of your gift card?

The cards with the small barcode on the left side of the back is what you can scan. The longer bar codes on the generic red cards I get from Office Depot don't work.
