So after 10 years, I'm finally framing my Mickey Self Portrait. I got it for Christmas 1995, finished it in 2000 and it has been in a drawer ever since. I ironed the transfers today. BTW, my instructions said use low heat, but don't do that, use a medium heat. The low heat only made them transfer lightly (although it may be the age of the kit), but when I turned the heat up, they did what they were supposed to. So when trying to figure out what to do I went to the Stoney Creek website and found out that there are two new Castle cross stitches.

http://www.stoneycreek.com/disney.html

One is for the "Happiest Celebration on Earth" and it is the Fab 5 in front of the Castle.

Second, the new Randy Souder's "Past, Present, Future" image. This one's finished size is 18 x 24! All the other's have been 16 x 20. I can't tell if it's all stitches or if it is one of those that is part printed image/part stitching.

Both of them are "must haves" for me! Hopefully, I can get them, finish, and frame them in less than 10 years!

Good for you for completing the xs. Maybe someday I will get back to it & start my Disney ones!

Thanks for the heads up. I'd never seen that site. I love it. I like to Cross stitch too, but I never have the time.

Does anyone know the price of the Mickey/Walt - Past, Present and Future?
My DS and his family will be at the World in July and I would love to have them pick it up for me.

The other kits are in the $40 range, so I'm guessing it will be about the same. I'm still working on my Cinderella Castle one (bought it 5 years ago!! ) and am finally close to finishing. I swore never again 'til I was looking at the Stoney Creek site last week -- I might have to do that Past, Present & Future one. ;)

I've purchased the castle with Tink three years ago. It took about 1 1/2 years to finish. I had it framed and it's the central picture in my Disney bathroom. I'm working on the patriotic Mickey now. I was wondering about the price on Past, Present and Future because it is larger than the other kits.

I haven't stitched in so long. I did some Pooh baby ones for my boys when they were born and have them in just plain frames that look so ugly. I really should invest in some custom framing.

I'm going to WDW in a little less than a month, so I can post the price when I get back.

Besides the Self-Portrait (which still didn't get framed because the fabric was smaller than it said, so now I need a smaller frame, argh!), I have also done Puppy Love (just framed it today), Family Dinner (Framed), Barbershop Quartet (still need to frame) and the Cinderella Castle (framed). Each one did get easier and faster to do.

Next step is to get them up on the wall in our bedroom.

Where can you find these? I love the "happiest celebration on earth" one. :goodvibes

They sell them at the Art of Disney stores at WDW, and it looks like you can also buy them through the Stoney Creek website. :)

What about Disneyland? do they sell them there? We are going there in July. :goodvibes I must've missed that store when we visited WDW.

Nope, they are only at WDW. DL sold the Norman Rockwell ones in the Disney Gallery when they first came out, but I haven't seen any cross stitches there since 1995.

I don't think you can get them at Stoney Creek. I called them last yr and they said they were only sold at WDW.

Thank you so much for this thread. I just called the number on the website 407-828-3929 and it was to The Art of Disney. I ordered the Past, Present and Forever and The Happiest Celebration on Earth. Total with shipping was $100. The CM said that the Past, Present and Forever was the most beautiful cross stitch she has ever seen. It will take me years to finish both of them. :flower:

I bought the Self Portrait in '92 or '93 when I was working at DL. I NEVER thought I would actually finish it, but I worked as a consultant for my sorority after college and traveled all over the US. All that time in the air and at airports and I was done in no time. I had it professionally framed and it has had a place of honor in my homes ever since!

So cool to see the other ones although there is NO way I'd finish one now :-)

I just finished the patriotic mickey cross stitch, and started working on the castle with tink. I really like the castle with the fab 5 and will probably order one too. I have about 10 cross stitch's done, but haven't had the time to frame them yet. I just keep starting new ones. I do alot of disney and also ones with homes on them ( farm houses and victorian homes). I have 2 DS ages 7 and 9 so I do cross stitch on my lunch at work and after they go to bed.

Tracie

I also have Puppy love, and self portrait too. Not started yet though.
