I was making our reservations for March and was told that the Dining Plan has morphed into 2 plans. The Basic, which now doesn't include gratuities and the Deluxe, which has 3 table service meals per day plus one snack, also tips are on you. The basic has been reduced by $2 and the Deluxe will cost $69. I am waiting on them to send me the complete info package, as I cannot find it anywhere online. Has anyone else heard about this? We are DVC members.

Somewhat, but I don't see the part in the Deluxe plan for 3 table service meals. Did I miss it? I am not going on the Magic Your Way option. We have DVC rooms. So we are buying the plan separate.

That's it! That is what I was looking for. I have to think about whether this is a good choice for us...I eat, A LOT...she eats like a bird:) We left some snacks on the table last year.

Thank you for your help, it is much appreciated!

Hi,
Am I right in assuming that the price has gone up significantly and now it does not include gratuities and it includes the same things.

Am I right.

TIA

Hi,
Am I right in assuming that the price has gone up significantly and now it does not include gratuities and it includes the same things.

I haven't crunched any numbers but on the surface the DDP seems like a pretty big money maker for Disney. You pay in advance for meals reguardless if you eat them or not. "Most" people aren't really up for planning out 3 meals a day and a snack months in advance to take full advantage. So I'm sure that quite a few people end up eating places they just happen across and don't have a huge line, or skip a meal here and there. Also remember that the money is no longer in your bank account but Disney's. People have noted before that the choices have really gone downhill over the past couple of years.

Then again that is the current Disney it is nearly impossible to just show up at Disney and have a good time it takes quite a bit of planning just keep from standing in line after line.

I have used this in the past in fact I used this in July and thought it was a great deal but they raised the price I am not longer sure.

Any advice

Lucinda

I have to say what really sold me on this plan in the past was that gratuity was included. Now that it is not, I just don't see how this will be benifical to my family. We really aren't big eaters. We're going to pay our way this year. We're going to eat what we want and where ever we want. I'm going to keep all the recipts and see how we do.:thumbsup2
