What did you think of the new designer Rick Rifle on TS tonight?

I thought he was awful! That dining room that was all green was really bad. That poor woman had a right to be upset. I think sometimes they look for the worst designers.

That room was one of the worst I have ever seen on Trading spaces. There was not one thing I liked about it, and the work, especially the cloth/batting covers on the window seats was very shoddy. During the reveal you could see some of the batting!

I thought he was a cutie;)

The first room was horrible :(

I didn't see the second show - was it any better:confused:

i only saw the green dining room. YUCK!

Second room wasn't bad, the tent was removable. Doug design of the "prison of love" bedroom was very interesting.

A removable tent & prison of love??

Sounds like I missed an interesting one  ;)

I'll have to catch the reruns.

Between this new guy, Hildi, and Kia, I think Trading Spaces is hiring the most insane people that they can find, who are also somewhat photogenic. All three decorate the ugliest messes I've ever seen. If I was chosen to have my room done and found out I was getting any of them, I'd back out!

So was that dining room green or blue or blue/green?? I really couldn't tell! But I DO know that I would be ill if I had to eat in that room!!! Wow, that was really one of the worst I had seen - until Doug's prison motif. How ugly! I really didn't care for the other room either, but compared to Doug's it was beautiful!! I can add Rick to the list as another designer I would never let into my home.

Oh my! I just looked at the befores and afters at the website.

I liked the dining room before better! What were they thinking??? I would go nuts in a room all that color.

Not sure what Doug was going for with that "prison motif"!!! The HO that helped him was a probation officer (not that wither HO woiuld want that decorating!). Why would someone want a mural of a prison cell on their wall?!?! Is he crazy?..or just disgusting?

The Prison of Love was one of Doug's worst for sure.

Now the Tent room I liked.

:D

Gosh, I have no idea...but I agree the prison idea was awful!!! Isn't a bedroom supposed to be relaxing and comfortable? Not some dungeon feel... Doug is one of the absolute worst designers...YUCK!! There was absolutely no color in the room and though it was a neat idea to HAVE a mural, the one they put up there was...well, terrible.

I didn't mind the living room (the one with the tent) too much. I really liked the colors and I love the homeowner's leather furniture (was complimented by the wall and fabric colors very nicely). Though the fabric...mainly the tent...I felt was a bit to "baggy" and too much. It's not so terrible, but just a bit too over the top, I guess.

I tried checking out the before and after of the dining room and it is really hard to tell what it looks like based on the pictures they provide on the website...though what is up with him and the "puffy" fabric over the windows like that? It's hideous!!

That dining room has to be the ugliest room yet. Did anyone notice how bad the doors looked. I didn't see the entire show, just the reveal. I'll watch it later but I think the result was horrible.

I personaly didn't like either room. I very seldom Like Dougs rooms.. I think Vern does the best rooms. Kia does a nice job too. I thought the Prison room was dumb.. I really didn't care for the net room either, but the owners seemed to like it just fine.

I do not like that new designer at all. It seems like TS is trying to create some drama with the homeowners by having designers that are vying with one another to see who can come up with the most bizarre design.

Another vote for not liking the new designer. That green dining room was just horrid!!! What was he thinking!!

I can't wait to see the $100K episode, though! Bling-bling?!

There were elements of the dining room that i thought were kind of cool (although, no, I wouldn't want them in my house), but definitely not all together. The color was way too intense for a dining room.

I felt bad about the HO's candle sticks, but then, I guess she should have taken them out of the room if she didn't want to risk something happening to them.

Do you think she caught a glimpse of the color early (maybe on a staff person's clothes or something) or did she really dream that her room was going to be an intense green?

The tent room I thought was cool. I would have probably skipped the tent itself, or at least had it tight against the wall and ceiling, but I liked the color and his use of their furniture. I liked the screens too.

That "prison of love" thing was beyond scary. That has to be the worst room I've ever seen on this show. Well, at least really close anyway - it's tough to beat some of Hildi's "gems" like the black and yellow dining room. In any case, Doug is truly a sick human being. The sconces and bed posts looked cool, but the rest was awful.

I'll still give the new guy a few more episodes before I really decide. I hated Edward at first, and now I like almost everything he does (the casket, however, was pretty bad).

Kia is too themey for me.
