New Contract w/Banked Pts.+ Existing Resv. = Reallocate Pts.?

I'm waiting to close on a contract that will have points banked into the next UY. When the points finally load into my account, can I ask MS to return the 2017 points from contract XXXXXXXX.3 that I used for an existing reservation and use the banked 2016 points from contract XXXXXXXX.4 instead? They are both from the same home resort and UY.

Yes, as long as you aren't within 30 days of arrival.

And to add, the reason you can't be within 31 days of arrival is because any freed up points would become holding points and have restrictions. But, if you are more than 31 days out, then yes, MS will put in banked points and free up current UY points!
