New Contemporary Resort Monorail/Incredibles Room Theme Announced - With Pictures

The only place there was light bleed at Contemporary was under the door to the room and between the drapes. If the drapes are measured and hung properly, the top corners and the floor of the windows don't have light bleed. At Contemporary, the rounded corner contraption is a design choice, not a way to darken the room.

The bathroom is perfect!
Many of us would prefer the glass in the shower not be clear glass so more folks can share the space in the morning rush and the afternoon or evening cleanup process.

Frosted or Acid washing the glass or using "Smart" Glass would provide the privacy that many guests have commented about the new design.

It is a design choice but it will help keep the light out as well. Thi isnt rocket science.

Initially I thought I might have been exaggerating...but I wasn't. Just add Incredibles and voila!

The finishes at the TWA Hotel look a lot more luxe than what they've done here. Add in the kid's bed in a bag look with the pillows and curtains and it's a huge miss. I'm also really surprised they jettisoned the work surface. Between the conventioneers and people who need to do a bit of remote work while on vacation, it will be missed. What a disappointment.

Is the couch still a daybed? It doesn’t look like one. That is a poor choice. One thing we liked about the deluxe rooms is that most had 3 sleep surfaces. We have 3 kids. These days we sometimes just take our two younger teens. They are 15 and 16, one boy and one girl. They are no longer comfortable sharing beds, so that 3rd bed is crucial.

I think doing some of the rooms (like garden wing, perhaps, if they kept as 5th sleepers bc families with kids are what you want to focus IP at) as Incredibles, and others without IP would’ve been a great compromise.

That being said, I DO like the rooms, just not sure that I like them at CR. I DONT see them at the CR price point t. I feel like these could be All Star Movies rooms. How cool would it be to retheme ASMo to more up to date themes?? This would’ve been perfect for that resort. The aesthetic itself is clean, modern and nice and I do appreciate it. I’m just not sure that it was much of an upgrade? Besides the bathrooms??

We’re all assuming the two straight sections of that couch flip over like the typical Disney daybed. Disney is still booking these rooms as sleeping 5, so that “has” to be the third sleeping surface, unless they are going to totally overhaul the guest count (which seems unlikely to me).

I think most of the renovated hotels at Disney have also added a narrow shelf above the bathroom vanity. I don't usually keep anything out there, but I've stayed with people who make really good use of those shelves. It also simplifies things for housekeeping. The vanity is clear and easy to wipe down because small items are kept off the countertop.

It is a design choice but it will help keep the light out as well. Thi isnt rocket science.

The drapes in the room pictured in the room reveal aren't properly fitted so there will be light bleed because they don't graze the floor for part of the run. But the contraption won't do anything to resolve that. If they were properly fitted, they wouldn't need the contraption to keep out light (the drapes would do their job.)

I'm just thinking of all the spiders and such that will take up residence between that frame and the wall as I'm sure that area is not going to be regular on the cleaning schedule.
True. We are all going to be checking now.

Ok, I had to go look in the bathroom and confirmed that I am remembering this correctly as we still have them - there was also a softening mint foot rub and cooling aloe gel. My wife really enjoyed using the foot rub after long days walking at the parks. I am thinking maybe from the Wilderness Lodge Club Level?
Gf had the foot scrub :)

This is what I'm thinking too. We booked for next August and it still says that it sleeps 5. I can't imagine them removing the day bed as they would lose a lot of families. We are a family of 4 and this would have been a no-go as our kids, a boy and a girl, are getting older and need their own space.

I think that's the issue most people on here are having. It's an okay theme just not for a hotel you spend $500+ at a hotel that's attached to a convention center.

It just hit me what the white room with the weird window-portal wall reminds me of:

585060

OK, that’s a bit extreme, I know, but it was bugging me for days, haha! The Incred-igloo!

That said, a lot of people do seem to love it, so it’s all good. Love that there are different strokes for different folks.

I can appreciate what they were trying to accomplish with the refurb but in my opinion it was a fail. The room design lacks color and my first impression was “ Yikes- that’s just ugly (Maybe a brighter curtain color would help). Having said that, we have never stayed at the contemporary resort as the overall theming does not appeal to me. I tend to prefer wilderness lodge, beach club, art of animation and animal kingdom lodge resorts. I like the old room design of the contemporary better than the resigned rooms and think that BLT rooms are very appealing.

ASMo was just completely renovated.
