New Code and current AP... how many park tix?

okay... we just got back from the World in October, but with the new promotion, thought we'd sneak in a 3rd trip before our ONE AP expires in Feb...

So... my ? is this:
If we book 5 nights at CSR with the dining plan, we really only "need" 1 adult and 2 child's park tickets (DH has an AP)... so... can I buy just a 1 day ticket for him and 4 days of tickets for me and the kids? Or do we have to all have the same # of days?

I know that this has been discussed over and over, but I can't seem to search correctly to find the answer...

When you book a package, you have to have everyone have the same number of park tickets. You can do 5 nights at CSR with dining and then get everyone a 1 day base ticket and then upgrade everyone that needs a longer ticket once you get there. It is very easy

But.. if I "upgrade" once I get there, I will not be able to get the "special" (free PH & Water park) options, correct? I'll be paying the same rate as a walk up at the park... correct?

You can just buy a one day pass for all those in your party in order to use the dining plan and then purchase your other tickets separately at the Disney Store, gait or whereever.....
