Amazing. I haven't seen Disney offering discount codes specifically for states near Florida since about 2002 or 2003.

Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina Resident Room-Only Discounts

Check-in dates: 9/28/08-12/23/08. (Some dates may be blacked out.) Use code GTI. Compare these rates with regular "Rack" rates. This time period includes Value, Regular and Holiday seasons, so rates will vary widely depending on your dates. Your stay will be priced on a day-by-day basis, so rates may be higher on weekends.

Sample rates:

Value resort: $54 plus tax Standard view, weeknight, Value season
Value resort: $84 plus tax Standard view, weeknight, Regular and Holiday seasons
Other resorts and room types are available
About Booking

You must book by 9/27/08. There are a limited number of rooms available at these rates. This offer is only available to residents in the following states: Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina. Proof of residency is required.

For phone bookings, you pay a deposit of one night's room rate plus tax. No change or cancellation fee will be charged if you make your modification more than 5 days before arrival.

To reserve a room with the Fall Room-Only Discount, call the Disney Reservations Center at (407) W-DISNEY or contact a travel agent who specializes in Disney travel, and request the specific offer code.

If you live in these states, you should call about this discount. I have a ressie at POFQ for 10-20 to 10-28 booked with a bounceback code. Code GTI was available and only about 100.00 more for the 8 nights than my bounceback code. I also have a ressie for 12-1 to 12-11 at POFQ with an AP rate. Code GTI was available and only 60.00 more for the 10 nights than the AP code. I was surprised that they were able to apply this discount to both of these ressies and give me a price quote. Go for it--they are really good rates!!

I live in Alabama. I just tried to book GTI for my one night room only reservation and was told that the only value resort left that has availability for this code was All-Star sports. We are already booked at All-Star Movies and the next day is when our package starts. I didn't want to lose my continuing reservation and have to move resorts, so I declined.

Just called. Not available for the campgrounds---sold out. I asked for dates 11/22-11/28 and it is available for POFQ if anyone needs it.

PLEASE do not cut and paste big chunks of material off of MouseSavers.com and post them, especially without giving credit to the source. The text on my site is copyrighted. I know you are just trying to help fellow DIS Board members, but the correct way to do that is to do one of the following:

1. provide a link to the original material
2. cut and paste only a small amount, such as a paragraph, and give credit to the source (this is called "fair use")
or
3. put the information into your own words, preferably with credit to where you found it

That way you avoid copyright infringement.

Thanks very much.

They couldn't have thrown VA in there? :confused3

I have an existing ressie w/ an old code. They changed it to the state code. It did save me a total of $15. That's $5 each for 3 nights. Hey a total of 15 is 15!!! Thanks

Anyone know what the discount might be for Wilderness Lodge? We have an existing reservation with the AAA rate. Can I even call Disney to check since I booked through a AAA agent?

Disney must be having a harder time filling some rooms. It has to be the economy.

I keep trying and can not seem to get any discount. :sad2:

Have tried AP holder, AAA and this new code. I know I should be happy to just be going to Disney, but a little pixie dust and a discount would be so welcome

Just wanted to bump this up because it seems they extented the booking date until I think 12/23/08.

Yep and it also looks like the rate has dropped again, the email I got said $49 for value resorts. Since it's a "good neighbors" promotional, I think it's really odd that the Carolinas are included but not Mississippi. I wonder why?

do you have to show proof of residency at check in? Can my mom, who lives in SC, book a room for me if I live in a different state? Or would she have to be with me at check in?

When I called and priced out WL for 12/13-12/17, courtyard view it was somewhere around $1250 (?)I believe, it was for courtyard view w/ bunk beds. I went with the All Star Sports for $255. Pop Warner checks out that day and I'm saving $1000 over what my beloved WL will cost.

I find it had to justify the cost difference as well. We can go a few times a year and stay a week each time if we stick to the values. We went 3 times in the past year and spent less than 4500 for all three trips including driving there with the motel down to FL and food and the AP on our May trip for 2 adults. We even have a one day pass each (value about 79 each) to apply to a future trips AP or multiday ticket! We will most likely take a short trip before the passes expire in May as well.

They are going to give the discount based on the address on the reservation. If your address is on the reservation and you do not live in one of the included states, then they will not give you the discount. If your Mom is going with you, then she could be the lead on the reservation and then you would receive the discount.

Yep, that's the same thing they told me, someone in the party has to show an approved source for proof of residency for one of the qualifying states at check in so if your mom is going with you, you should be fine. If she's not going with you and someone else in your party can not provide proof of residency, they'll dis-allow the neighbor rate and require you to pay whatever the regular rate is.
