New Chat = No More Macs In Chat?

I tried to sign in to chat & it wouldn't show up. It seems that the iChat site has support for the PCs, but not for the Macs. I have the iChat plug-in (which worked fine the last time I signed in), but with this new chat room, I get a blank page.

Just out of curiousity, why the change? Does this mean in order to chat I'll have to go back to long loading java or html with the annoying enter/refresh?

Unfortunately yes Jeff... html is really the only option for us Mac users now.

I've tried it, and it's "ok" if there are 3 people there, any more than that and it's impossible to keep up.

The old version of the software is no longer supported, and with the large volume of users we couldn't hold the old system together any longer, thus the upgrade.

I do rather miss chat sometimes.

I'd like to officially log a complaint. Is there any other options, besides other web sites?

I think it's unfortunate that they're going with a format that is unfriendly to Mac users.

I agree Jeff, but knowing the the percentage of us Maccies, there really isn't much we can do. (Except maybe push to convert a few more towards true enlightenment!)

You can try emailing webmaster@wdwinfo.com to express your feelings, but like I said before, it really came down to the software and of having a functional chat room for most, or for none at all.

I know and agree! I <i>used</i> to be a chat host after all

You could also complain to i-chat in the hopes that they'll introduce mac support in the future - Their technical support email address is help@ichat.com
