New Cast Member Safety Procedures Starting Tomorrow (6/26)

"When masks and social distancing became optional for guests on June 15th, they remained required for Disney’s Cast Members. However, beginning June 26th, they will become optional for vaccinated employees of the resort.

In consideration of Cal/OSHA’s amended regulations for vaccinated California employees, Disneyland will take the following steps on the 26th of June:

• Physical distancing is eliminated.
• Face coverings are optional outdoors only for fully vaccinated Cast Members.
• Face coverings are required outdoors for Cast Members who are not fully vaccinated.
• Indoors, and in enclosed vehicles and select health facilities, all Cast continue to wear face coverings."

I've been keeping an eye out for this announcement ever since CalOsha gave the go-ahead for no social distancing requirements for both the vaccinated and unvaccinated and no mask requirements for vaccinated employees. It sounds like Disney is going to take a more cautious approach requiring masks indoors. My hope is that (aside from the general employee shortage for restaurants) this will help with social distancing in the Disneyland Resort kitchens and we might see additional tables open up at places like Blue Bayou and maybe even Carnation Cafe (with it's small kitchen) will now be able to re-open.

I would love to hear any difference that you see! I don't expect to see big changes in restaurants tomorrow (that will probably take awhile), but I'm sure the vaccinated CMs who are working outside will love to be able to remove their masks and smile and wave at people!

Been in the parks since about 845 and I've seen a handful of employees without masks, but it seems like most are still wearing them. Tried to grab a side salad at 11 from alien pizza planet and their system over there is ridiculously chaotic. Ended up walking away without getting anything. Came over to plaza inn and they clearly have each side labeled for standby or mobile order. Not sure what these 2 locations have been like since this is the first time we've visited either one this trip.

I know some people who had been going maskless post-vax have returned to wearing masks today due to the new WHO guidelines regarding the Delta variant. So I suspect some CMs might be following that guidance even though they’re now allowed to go without them.

Hope they get the mobile order act together more consistently, but happy that more food options are opening all the time!

I work for a major hotel chain nearby and we can also go mask-free, however about 90%+ of us still wear them. It feels strange not to since there's thousands of guests from all over the country (and some parts of the world) coming back now. Many will forcefully walk up within a foot of others faces.... would be nice if people still kept distancing, but can always dream. I'd rather "social distance" than wear masks.

It is nice in back office areas to finally breath freely again!

Definitely noticed some employees going maskless on Saturday, but the vast majority still wearing them.

We are just home from 5 days in the parks. Things were different but still fun. Looking forward to someday going back to “normal” at the parks.
