New Carsland Buttons - Update 11/19/14

Since October of 2013, Disney has been releases buttons for various Cars characters at different locations in Carsland. These button are free, but you usually have to ask a CM for one. At the dining locations, some CMs will only give them out when you order something (not consistent, so it's worth asking anyway).

Update (12/12/14): The buttons that I've heard about so far...

• Flo - available at the counters where you pick up food at Flo's V8 Cafe (released 10/2013 - no longer available),
• Red - available from the CMs at Red's Meet and Greet (released 10/2013 - no longer available),
• Mater - available from the CMs at the entrance at Mater's Junkyard Jamboree, but they seem kind of hard to get (released 10/2013 - no longer available),
• Sarge - available at Sarge's store (released 10/2013 - no longer available),
• Luigi - available from the CMs at the entrance to Luigi's Flying Tire ride (released 12/2013 - no longer available),
• Stanley - not quite sure where these were, but apparently you had to do a scavenger hunt to get one (released 12/2013 - no longer available),
• DJ - available from the CMs at the DJ dance party (released 3/2014 - no longer available),
• Filmore - available from Fillmore's Taste-in (released 3/2014 - no longer available),
• Lizzie - available at the Radiator Springs Curios store (released 10/2013 - no longer available),
• Sally - available at the Cozy Cones (released 11/2014 - may still be available),
• Ramone - available Ramone's House of Body Art shop (released 11/2014 - may still be available), ,
• McQueen - available from the CMs at the entrance to RSR (released 11/2014 - may still be available),
• Sheriff - available from the CMs doing crowd control under the stoplight, (released 12/2014 - may still be available).

Based on the most recent reports (12/12/14), the only button currently available is the Sheriff. All other buttons are reportedly no longer available.

As a collector (pins, vinylmations, etc.) this excites me very much! I have all the other buttons and I'm happy to hear that new ones are out!

Update: there are four buttons in total. Sarge and Flo, plus Red (fire engine) and Mater. Mater is already out...no mire until they're re-stocked and I missed Red's show times for today.

Are these the free buttons?

I asked several CM's on my trip Sept.15-21 and everyone said they didn't have them anymore. We were so disappointed.

How do you get these buttons? Do cast members hand the out or do you have to ask for them?

They're free buttons! I think they're replacing the ones that were available when Carsland first opened. You have to ask the CM at each location for them. They're brand new (CM said they got them yesterday) and I don't recall seeing them earlier in the week.

We made friends with a little boy in line at Goofys Sky School on Sat 10/12. He had Sarge and Mater pins. I was talking to his mom saying, "wow, I've never seen those before, so cool!" She had an extra Mater and gave it to my DS4 because he had his bday button on and it was her bday too. We were so thankful! They are really cute!

thanks for posting about these! we're going to have to hunt these down next time we go. my husband is a cars fan and he's a sergeant in the marine corps, so the sarge button would be perfect for him!

I love "hunting" in DL and DCA, whether its pins or these buttons!! The thrill of trying to track down certain items can be a blast!!!

Thanks to op we got a complete set! Sarge was easy at Sarge store. Flo-go up to counter at Flo's. We got Red where he parks for photo ops between shows, no need to do photo just ask CM. Mater was hard to get and we only got 1 Mater (2 kids) - asked at least 10 CMs throughout Mater ride over 2 days and finally a CM said he had 1 left but ds had to win rock paper scissors for it! CM was bummed he only had 1 to give. Tried at Mater photo op too and CMs there said each CM is given a stash when they come on shift so try to find someone fresh! Don't know how that can be done but hth! Good luck!

Has anybody seen these buttons in the last few days? I know that the last post says they managed to snag some but I haven't had too much luck. We were in the park first thing when it opened and beelined to Cars Land and every CM I asked said they were completely out. We did manage to snag one at Sarge's store as per previous post but that was it.

Any ideas?

It sounds like they've already run out of the first run of buttons (I know that's what I heard about the Mater one a few days after the first release). Most of the CMs seemed to expect to get more in, so my guess is that they'll kind of be available in waves, at least initially. Hopefully they'll get the next shipment in quickly!

Managed to fibd all gour pins. Took a little bit of work but doable. Bought a shake at Flos for hers, took pictures with Red for his, rode Maters ride 5 times, just asked at Sarge's store for his. Not too bad.
