NEW Cantina De San Angel

So we are going to be in DW a week after the new Cantina De San Angel opens. Which we are very excited about. But I can't seem to find a menu (allears) since it is not currently open. Do you think they will have alot of the old menu? We LOVED the San Angel Inn last year, and can't wait to check out the QS this year.

They haven't released the CS menu yet, so we don't really know. They've really only given a few hints about the new TS menu.

I thought I read last week that the CS/TS aspect of the restaurant was debunked... that it is just going to be TS. (Or am I confusing this with the new restaurant in Italy?)

There will be both a CS restaurant (Cantina de San Angel) and a TS restaurant (Hacienda de San Angel). The TS will only serve dinner.

Via Napoli is TS only.

uhmm, well I know the QS (Mexico) will have lots of seating..besides that I couldnt tell you. NOw for the new Italy restaurant (pizzeria) I wasn't aware there was talk of it having a QS option. I love the look of it inside, but we have decided no TS, we want to try new QS locations.

You may be thinking of Via Napoli - before it was confirmed that it would be TS, there was a lot of speculation about it being CS, mostly because it was assumed that a restaurant serving pizza would be CS.

So when do you think the menu might be released? Not until the opening? SO they are changing the San Angel Inn as well?? That I didn't know of. I loved it before, did lunch and it was awesome! It's the one place that I had a hard time giving up for QS DP. But excited to see the new CS location.

When is it supposed to open? Last I heard was just "September" but no firm date.

it's still "September" but it appears to be after September 16, as there is an invitation-only grand opening party scheduled on that date.

From what i read via napoli was supposed to be a TS and a QS window like the pizza one on the board walk but that was last year when it was first mentioned and it did not even have a name yet.

As for the Hacienda/cantina was told by a CM today that they should be taking bookings in the next few weeks for the Hacienda. Looks like dinner only at the Hacienda and lunch at the Cantina.

Cantina and Hacienda are two separate restaurants located within the same building. Originally billed as CS for lunch and TS for dinner, it's evolved into the two separate restaunts.

Cantina will be re-opening when Hacienda opens. Cantina will be serving QS lunch and dinner, while Hacineda will be serving TS Dinner.

I am guessing you are referred to the CS for the Cantina since you are going QS this trip. I may be way off on this one, but I don't think we can expect to see a preview of a CS menu prior to opening. I understand them doing this with TS because they want to pull in the reservations and people like to know what is on offer (and prices) before they book. Usually the online CS menus are posted as a result of guests coming back and passing on the information. Unless Disney puts it up on the official site. I am pretty sure that you will get to see something on the boards once the CS has opened to give you a general idea. I doubt the DIS is going to be quiet about it if there is any breaking news.

I have ADR's for San Angel Inn in December. Is this a different restaurant?

If it is, I presume the reservations for the new one are not yet available?

Yes, it is a different restaurant, to be called Hacienda de San Angel.
