New Camper

Congrats on the new TT! I love the layout! We're still in the pup stage of our camping career, but I love to browse new stuff and now you camper is on my "nice layout" list! :) I love the kid room in the back -- awesome!

As long as you are within your limits, I don't see a problem. There are people out there who don't think you should tow a popup with anything less than a diesel dually. I pulled my Kiwi for a couple years with a Sport Trac and had no safety issues. It did put a strain on the tranny, and no doubt my F150 pulled it a lot easier, but I never felt I was endangering my family or anybody else and was always well within the limits of the TV.

Properly adjusted sway control does make a big difference in towing, though. If you ever forget to tighten it up, it won't take long before you notice. Same with the weight distributing bars - adjusted properly, they make a big difference. I know a lot of people say you should adjust them so the nose of the trailer is down, but I don't agree and have always adjusted so the TV and TT make a straight line from the side.

Trailer looks great. Are those two lights in the front by the diamond plate? Mine only has one light and it sure would be nice to have one on the other side to hook up at night. Beautiful spot to camp, too.

Yes those are two LED lights. They both shine right down where you are hooking up. I tried the just to see how they look at night and they appear to be set right to help. Now I just have to remember they are there if I have to hook at night.

And yes we love the kid friendly space in the rear. It definately helps keep them occupied. So far we love the camper. I dropped it at the dealer today for some monor issues to be repaired. Friday we head out for the big race weekend at Talladega.

Yes Scott, I try to go to at least one Dega race a year. Sometimes I make both. It all depends on having friends to go have fun with. The new camper should help future trips.

I have a question for you experienced rvers. How big of a generator do I need to power my airconditioner ? My paperwork is in the unit at the dealer so I can't read the specs and Im headed to Sears to shop today. Thanks in advance.

A 3000 will work. How much are you planning to spend. A Honda 3000 is around $1,800 new. They are by far the best in the portable market. I have the Yamaha 2400 and it's great but if I had to do it over I would take the Honda.
