We hear all the time about spoiled, over-entitled athletes, and even criminal athletes. Thanks for posting this and reminding us all that there are still guys like Warner out there who are aware of the privileges that their abilities brought them and share their fortune with others.

I grew up in Pittsburgh. My formative youth was in the 70's during the Steel Curtain days. I am a Steeler fan through and through. However, I would take a player with the character traits of Kurt Warner over a player with the character traits of Ben Roethlisberger anyday. Hopefully Big Ben will grow up.

A local Children's hospital used to raise money with "celebrities" participating in golf. Some of the "celebrities" where first class people. They would visit the hospital and talk to the kids. Jeff Foxworthy was one of the good guys. Others, mainly ex sports stars, would fly into town to eat, play golf, drink and leave never visiting the kids.

I used to volunteer at these events and the Polo shirts I got as payment each year filled my wardrobe. Eventually the hospital stopped raising money with one of their events. One of the reasons was that the hospital was having a hard time getting celebrities to show up. Foxworthy was a exception. He showed up year after year for well over a decade.

It is good to see a sports star actually giving back to the community.
