new blog: Five “Killer” Whales Sue SeaWorld for Slavery

Totally ludicrous. If animals have the same rights as humans and if animals should count in the constitution, then they should face the same consequences for their actions as humans do. Tilly should then be put to death for killing a trainer. The whales and other animals in the wild should be put to death for killing other animals for food. The raccoon that tore through my garbage can the other night should be arrested and thrown in jail for trespassing on my property and littering. I should sue the deer that ran into my car for damages it caused. All animals should have a right to vote in the 2012 presidential election. We should have one of each animal represented in congress. An animal that is at least 35 years old should be able to run for president. All animals should have to pay taxes.

Obviously those examples are crazy. But so is this lawsuit. Just another publicity stunt by a bunch of nut jobs. Wasting their money on something stupid like this instead of using it to actually help animals. I read while PETA was making this press release today, that Seaworld San Diego was out returning rehabilitated Sea Turtles to the wild.

Now remember, the only animals that could run for president would be the ones BORN in the US:lmao:

I have to agree you with KBF this lawsuit is totally insane. I would love to know how the lawyers were able to communicate with their clients? LOL

I do not see the suit going far-just another very weak attempt by peta to draw attention to themselves.:sad2:

I feel bad for SW. Every now and then it gets this kind of bad press and it makes people feel reluctant to go and patronize their parks. Any venue that involves animals "performing" faces these kinds of accusations of animal mistreatment. SW does so much for environmental and animal preservation and education, it would be nice to hear more about that in the media.

I agree. But good news is not good news. Everybody wants to hear doom and gloom. What PETA fails to mention about their organization is how many animals they have killed over the past few years. Petakillsanimals.com has statistics on this. What they also fail to mention is that the majority of Seaworld's Whales were born at Seaworld. The others that were born in the wild were captured by other marine parks not associated with Seaworld. Tilly for example. Tilly was captured by a Marine Park in Canada. When the park could no longer care for him, they were going to put him down. But Seaworld stepped in and gave him a home instead.

PETA also claims these animals were ripped from their families. Yet their families are living at Seaworld with them. If you take certain whales away from Seaworld like PETA wants to do, then the whales will indeed be taken away from their families by PETA.

I agree that this lawsuit will go no where. I just can't understand though how there are some people in this world that support PETA. :sad2:

Judging from the weekend crowds st SW, I think people realize what SW does for animals. :thumbsup2

And peta, well:rotfl2:
