new blog: Disney’s Magical Express Updates Video to DME TV

I absolutely love Disney’s Magical Express (DME). The service is complimentary to guests staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel and provides transportation from Orlando International Airport to your resort. Guests also have the option of tagging their luggage before leaving home and “magically” finding it in their rooms once in Florida. This saves a lot of aggravation when traveling because you don’t have to drag suitcases around or wait at baggage claim. You simply hop on a bus and let Disney do the driving. While aboard, you’re treated to a video creating even more excitement for your vacation. For as long as I can remember, the film has been the same and definitely needed some updating. Low and behold, DME TV has been born and is ready to showcase some of the new offerings Walt Disney World has to offer.

Interesting blog update on the new video.

Going to see it for myself tomorrow as we head to BLT!!

I know the old one was in need of an update, but I always looked forward to getting on the DME bus and watching that video got me excited about our upcoming visit. On the way back to MCO, I would always get "choked-up" watching Mickey and Gang sing goodbye to us….I didn't want to go home!!!

I wonder if the new video will have the same 'emotional' pull. We'll see!

I saw the new video last month, and it has no charm whatsoever. If Disney wanted to replace the old video, fine. But the new one has no emotional pull at all. It doesn't make you excited to be going to WDW and it doesn't make you sad to leave. And it is not kid friendly at all. Don't know what they were thinking with this one.

The "to" video is fine, whatever - but the "leaving" video is very whatever. I agree totally that it did not have an emotional tug that made me sad to be leaving and want to hurry back soon. It was my final trip for quite a while (after 2.5 years of frequent trips) and I think the only time I didn't tear up a bit on the bus to the airport!
