I did this on the Podcast cruise and it was fun. I never got my certificate though and neither did at least one other person. There is a thread about this on the podcast board if anyone is interested.

It was about 88 when we were on that run, I don't know how anyone kept a shirt on, especially cotton ones. Once it hits 50 I never run in a shirt.

Thanks for the offer but I was just kidding. I had heard they did certificates but just figured they discontinued it until the bolg so it isn't a big deal.

Unfortunately I won't be in WDW for marathon weekend until 2011. I am hoping to go for the coast to coast that year. I did both in 2006 before they had the medals. I like to think I was the inspiration for them.

DH and I run the local Miami Turkey Trot every year on Thanksgiving day, we are going in the Magic now in July and then in the Wonder for Thanksgiving, I don't remember seeeing the 5k as an activity in our last cruise...it will be great if it is!!! so the question is, is there a 5k in every cruise? blessings to all

OMG Jeff all that food on the cruise and then to run the marathon.I thought it was bad for us in November to get back home and get back to routine before heading south again in January!

Yes, the 5K is for every cruise, weather permitting I assume.

One the wonder yes, not sure about the magic. This was not an even put on by Disney, one of the bartenders took it upon themselves. That person has left and the captain's assistant now organizes it.

The event will be in your navigator the night before your Castaway Cay day.

We were just on the Magic in May and they had the 5K. It was a lot of fun and we got our certificates.

Our run looked different than the pictures on the blog. We never made it as far as a lookout. We made a giant loop on the bike trail and then headed out to Serenity Bay and then straight back to the dock.
