I received my invite and VERY loose preliminary itinerary for the October 8-10 press event. Day one is Philharmagic and Wishes, day two is Mission: Space, day three is Pop Century and "exciting future attraction announcements and information never before confirmed or released"! I'm guessing October 10th is the magic day when we'll finally officially hear about Soarin', the AE rehab and other rumors.
What is project Geminin again? I know that i have read of it somewhere..just cant remember at the moment. OO I cant wait till they confirm the rumors about all those rides!
Keep us posted ! We're going next summer and I want to be surse to hit all the new attractions !
I'm especially interested in your opinion of the Pop Century. We normally stay at the ASM--may want to try PC if it gets thumbs up.
thanks.
Has anyone else read or heard about a new ride in Fantasland? I picked up a guide book today (Disneyworld with Kids, Open Road Pubishing, By Jay Fenster) and it says: Planned for Fantasyland is a ride based on the Disney Smash movie The Little Mermaid, which will be the first new attraction in the land since 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (1971) Its the 5th edition copyright 2002. But the information seems wrong since both Pooh and Mickey's new show are both in Fantasyland. Any thoughts?
Is the Magical Gatherings the new promos I have read about where Disney's new market plan will be basically enticing families to hold family reunions at WDW?
dzneelvr - I was able to take a brief tour of Pop Century last month when I was in WDW for a seminar. It looks WAY cool! Buildings and rooms very similar to All-Stars, but the lobby building has a wall of really cool stuff from the last 50 years (albums, games, 8 Track tapes, etc.). Also, the shop and food court are combined in one area. Very much Value Resort 2.0!
That is what I was thinking too DR! I am glad that I only borrowed this guide from the library. I hate to pay for incorrect information! If it were true it would be great though!
This has been gassed about at length in other threads, but I passed pretty close to Pop Century on a recent trip and it is a genuine horror. Tasteless and disgraceful.
