New AP holder questions

We just purchased two FL Resident annual passes and have made a reservation for next week at AK. I have a MDE account and plan to manage myself and my spouse. We don't have Magic Bands but I plan to use my Apple Watch to enter the park and tap in to rides while my spouse will just use his pass. Does this sound reasonable? Should he also get an MDE and put the app on his phone or is it really not necessary? Thank you!

I always find d it helpful for everyone to have the app. Just make sure you're "linked" together. Then the planning details are shared.

I’m definitely not an expert here, and I have yet to actually use it, as we are going for the first time in a few days. But here’s what I did: once the passes were in MDE, I opened Apple Wallet on my phone and was able to add them. Once they are added there, they should show up in in watch Wallet app. I have a Series 4 watch and I have heard that it does not work for Series 1 & 2. It’s my understanding that I’ll be able to use my watch to tap in at the entrance and for rides. I’ll try to remember to update this after our day at AK.

That worked for me! Mine is a Series 3. Just took a few minutes to find the Disney MagicMobile menu in the app. I get to try it out tomorrow. Thanks!

The watch worked flawlessly for park entry and for extra hours ride access at MK on Wednesday night. Very convenient! I never got it to work for the room door though, still had to use my phone for that. Maybe next time!
