New AP holder and AAA holder - what to do about reservations?

Taking my DD, her DH, and my DGD (who will be 8) to Disney World December 2nd thru the 10th..

Already purchased an AP for me (I'll be spending a few months in Florida this winter) and park tickets for everyone else. Also booked and paid for our airfare already.. Still need to get the MVMCP tickets - which I'll do today..

My DD has her heart set on Pop Century (after seeing the photos I took there last year) but when I called Disney yesterday they said they had no AAA discounts for that time period..

Should I just go ahead and book the rooms (we need two) now and see if a code or something comes out later or what?

And if I do book the rooms now and there's some sort of discount later, will it be hard to have it applied to the rooms?

Keep checking back on AAA, there may be cancelations.

But yes you can book your room now and apply the discount later. It's easy, just call and tell them you would like to apply (whatever code or discount) to your reservation.

Of course that is if there is one for your dates, hotel and room type

Same thing happened to me. This is the first time I am booking w/AAA TA because we want the dining and I am an AP holder. My travel agent couldn't get the rate I wanted so she kept trying and the computer opened up. It first said there were no AAA rates available, but my in-laws are also going and had their heart set on POFQ so after two more tries she was able to get AAA rate. You can give her a call if you want and see if she can get the rate for you. Also, remember the computers were really being overwhelmed with the 2007 rates just coming out so they may not be 100% accurate. Either try with Disney or call my TA -- AAA Vacations, Michelle Shears, . Best of luck to you!

6 months out for June this year I couldn't get AP or AAA rate for many WDW hotels...had heart set on CR, gave up a month before trip.

Was able to grab a AAA rate for CR in Oct. (tower just opened up)...still hoping to get an AP rate though.

Thanks all! Put a call in to Michelle (from S.C.) and she's working on it for me.. She said the computers were overwhelmed so she was going to try to call instead..

I guess I should just go ahead and call Disney and book the two rooms now and let her do what she can, when she can - right?
