New Animal Kingdom night show coming in 2014??

I want to enjoy all of those delightful AK alcoholic beverages after dark. Mmmm... Yak Attack.

Tho I will probably be pregnant for our 2014 WDW trip (but I doubt it would be underway in January anyway).

I very highly doubt AK will ever be turned into a nighttime park without extensive renovations. There are areas of the park that are simply too dark to safely have people in after the sun goes down.

They claim it to be a definite coming attraction and I was just wondering if anyone else has more info or has heard anything about this? Sounds pretty amazing!

That would be wonderful since it closes so early, I wondered how long it would take for them to do something here.

I think a laser show reflecting the animals on the tree of life so that they appear to move/ dance and then a show on the river would be impressive. The tree can be seen all around the park as well as reflected in the river. AK needs attractions to make it more than a day park and every little thing would help. Hey a girl can dream cant I. The soldiers on Stone mountain ride off the mountain and then back on in the laser show. You cannot tell me Disney isn't capable of something truly amazing around the tree of life.

We enjoyed after-dark hours at the AK in 2009 and were disappointed they didn't have it this past July. We will never forget how awe-inspiring this park is at night and Expedition Everest at night is the crown jewel of Disney experiences, imho.

Animal Kingdom is a 3 or 4 hour Park for us. Some light show or Hemorrhoid(Avatar)land is not going to change that for us. EVER

This is incorrect. I was DAK opening crew. My roommate worked on the Safari. They tested it. It was NOT extensive testing either nor was it rolled out for any length of time outside the holiday event. They tested, it failed miserably... Much like the zebra shaped food troughs for the lions that were removed after cast members complained during cast previews before park opening. Night safaris are NOT coming back because they were never truly here... Just a tested concept for a bit of a holiday extra that failed.

I'm sorry....... What was that? Where are all the haters and know it all 'never gonna happeners '? Come out, come out, where ever you are. You know you're dying to dump all over this new announcement.


BREAKING: Details of AVATAR Land Announced, New Nighttime Show & Attraction Revealed!

Very late this evening, Disney decided to reveal to the world the details of the AVATAR project for Animal Kingdom, including the announcement of a new nighttime spectacular and a nighttime version of Kilimanjaro Safaris for Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park!

Scheduled to open in 2017, guests will enter the world of Pandora and experience what seems to be two attractions…

First will be a boat ride through the nighttime forests of the planet, sure to be an audio-animatronics extravaganza like Pirates of the Caribbean…

Another attraction will allow guests to board a Banshee and fly through the skies…

Disney didn’t stop at AVATAR projects tonight, also announcing a nighttime show that will take place on the Discovery River. The new show will combine live music, floating lanterns, water screens and swirling animal imagery to delight guests and truly cap off their day at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Also announced was that there will be a nighttime version of Kilimanjaro Safaris for guests to enjoy!
Live evening entertainment will also be added to the park, like that seen in the above concept art. We can also assume new nighttime lighting on the Tree of Life will be added like you can also see in the concept art above.

No more information is available at this time, but you can expect we will keep you updated as more becomes available on this breaking story!

The art now has me excited about avatarland ! I'll now spend a whole day at this park vs. Leaving about 4pm and heading to another Park !

The night time photos have me so excited. The evening activities are going to be amazing. Hope they have some good restaurants with views of all the activities!
