Hi- my name is Susan and I am the family planner for our trip the 2nd week of Dec. I have been to Disney 4 times as a child and LOVED it but have never been as an adult. My husband only went once growing up and thought it was fine (Epcot was his favorite) but has never had a desire to go back. He doesn't love crowds, paying tons of money (I know - really- who does but he's at a whole different level!), and waiting so this will be interesting! Our vacations are usually at state or national parks and secluded ones at that such as Big Bend in Texas. I am doing my best to plan a trip he can enjoy too- although I know he will love seeing our 4 year old and 5 year old enjoy the disney magic. We are also bringing my parents along so party of 6. I am very excited and must say that reading posts on disboards is a bit addicting!

Welcome. When will you be going we will be there December 3rd to 10th. I love the first week of December. Low crowds and all od the Christmas decorations are up. Are you planning on doing the Christmas party in MK. We think it is a must.

:welcome:

I followed Disboards addictively to plan my first 2 trips in 2006 and 2007.

I really love all the helpful tips and savings I get by following the boards!

Glad you joined us princess:

Thanks! We will be spending 4 days in the parks-12/8-12/11. I have not decided about the Christmas party- that may be a post in itself. My kids- 4 and 5, are not great nappers, but need their sleep so I think my strategy so far is more of do parks during day and be back in room at decent times (not midnight). Right now I am just excited that we are actually going and have felt Ok about missing some things and making the most of what we are able to do. gabrielle I like your signature because we too are awesome parents :)and my husband is also in graduate school and working while I work part time/stay home with kids.

I have been several times. With kids and without. So if you need any advice feel free to ask. Where are you planning on staying? We always stay value. Love the resorts and the price. We stay mostly at POP.

Welcome to the DISboards! Yes, Disney and Disney planning can be quite addicting! We are going the first week in December, went last year the second week of December. Over on the Theme Parks > Happy Dance forum there is a December thread, we also have a Facebook group. There is a lot of info in both places - come on over!

For holiday activities, I would suggest thinking about MVMCP, the Candlelight Processional at Epcot, and the Osbourne lights at HS.

You may find that even though they are not nappers at home, everyone might be tired and need a break from the park and little swim and nap midday. That would give you more leeway on the party later.

Welcome! I myself will be there Dec 1-8. This is my 5th time at WDW but my first time planning. These boards have helped alot!
