In this weeks newsletter we all saw Yavn's hint about new things coming to VMK. Well here is this nifty little picture I found online for an Alice and Wonderland Pin. Recognize the little Pencil Bird on top?

Oh dear... it seems that URL went to the Island of Lost Websites...

Then again... LOST.

I knew this was going to happen, brutha.

Alice In Wonderland was on TV Last night and it showed the one with the Pencil Bird, and i think the new room will be from the movie. :cool1:

See new link. I realized it had an issue when testing it out but updated it to a more realiable site. And to answer the question from the above post, no this isn't a VMK pin, but just a Disney Collectors Pin sold which had the same little "Nonesuch" Pencil Bird with Alice that appears in Yavn's picture hint.

Am I the only disappointed that we now have TWO Alice rooms, but no Peter Pan (aka. Guest Room in the Clouds)?

I hope this doesn't sound rude because I certainly don't intend for it to be, but have you never seen that movie? Those pencil "birds" and glasses "birds" are some of the more recognizeable creatures that Alice sees as she's walking through the forest near the beginning (that and the broom-tailed dog). I figured anyone who had seen the movie would recognize the creatures in the picture in the newsletter instantly.

Thanks for saying that. I was thinking the exact same thing. ANYONE who has seen that movie, would know where the two "birds" came from, and what type of room will be released.

But I will have to agree with Pirate. I am kinda' disappointed that it is not another movie room. I mean, the new Peter Pan DVD just came out! They really could have done something with that.

But they didn't, which leads me to believe that VMK's marketing team is incompetent.

*Everyone raises their eyebrows at the statement*

*Pirate points to the "popular" and nearly unattainable Jack Sparrow outfit*

If Alice was just released onto DVD, that'd be one thing... But Pan was...

Which leads me to ask one more question:

Why does the Red Man say-

*Everyone raises their fingers up to their closed lips in silent protest*

Oh right, Peter Pan was racist... Forgot...

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

there's a Mad Hatter room, why have another AiW room? :confused3

I want a Cars room!! (because Mater is a hoot and Luigi is so cuuute! and that rhymed unintentionally but it works in functionality...and that didn't rhyme too well so I am off to think a spell. ah! and now I can't stop talking in rhyme because I'm doing it all the time. ahhhhh!! )

Now you have me rhyming too, and it is driving me kookoo!

Nope I don't think it is rude at all. Although I love the whole Alice in Wonderland psychadelic theme, it has been a long time since I have seen the movie, and I figured I wasn't alone. Hence the post. And shy of trying to grab a screen shot of the movie itself this was the only picture I could find on the web which ties it together. (You would actually think there were more out there). Either way, I appreciate you pointing out the obvious in a nice way rather than via a flaming email which is a standard on message boards of any kind these days. You should see what they do to the poor noobs on the LOST message boards.

Yeah Not, Probably been 25 - 30 years since I actually watched Alice in Wonderland. My daughter confirmed it was definatly from the movie. I recognized the characters just wasn't sure on where they were from. You need that little one to grow up to keep you infomed like me about these important things. LOL

I side with the folks who are wondering why we can't have a room from Peter Pan or any of the other popular Disney films reincarnated as popular attractions in Fantasyland (ahem, Pooh).

That said, I'll give my THEORY as to why we may be getting a second Alice room. And, granted, I may be giving the designers too much credit, but here goes. The new Alice room is a garden room. And it's getting to be Spring time. So there is a chance for some flowers, some trees, and ... dare I hold my breath that they may actually introduce the item I have wanted since VMK started ... TOPIARIES! ........... And, if we had flowers and trees and topiaries, then we could all buy them up, ignore the Alice room and trot them over to our new little Epcot rooms and build our own Flower and Garden Festival. Just a thought.

My next fearless prediction -- look for Ratatoille to give them a chance to introduce a whole lot of "food" furniture just before the Food & Wine Fest.

Oh I hope your right Simba!

Well, I've seen Alice recently numerous times and still didn't recognize those characters so don't feel bad. DD was the one who came up and said, "Oh, something for Alice".DD's favorite Disney movie is "Alice in Wonderland" and she loves the book so she is thrilled there will be more for Alice. I love it too so I am happy there will be more Alice things.

Wouldn't it be great if VMK could chose one Disney movie a month and have new rooms, items, and themed events for that movie? That way everyone's favorite Disney movie would be covered.

Personally I am thrilled they are going to use the pencil and glasses birds from Alice in a room (if that is what they do) but I also understand the disappointment in no Pan related room.

Many rooms seem to me to be redundant - I like pirates, of course, but THREE pirate rooms? And no rooms based on toon town or the original characters? I would love to see Minnie's kitchen or some type of meet and greet room with a famous NPC, for example (of course that would be a public room).

I will enjoy whatever they give us, however!

Now hold on a minute, we don't know if it's a room. I personally think it looks more like a chair. We shouldn't jump to comclusions just yet ;). But yea, obviously, those two "birds" are from Alice in Wonderland.

:thumbsup2 I agree that VMK has many untapped movies/characters/attractions to base new items on. However, If they do make an Alice room, this "hint" mighgt suggest that it will a "Tulgey Wood" room. There are so many cool items and creatures they could create for that!!!

Well, I know this seems unlikely, but it looks like to me a public room.
