New Al Lutz: WoC FPs, Dining Ressies, Glow Fest, Three Shows...

Dreams you are quite correct. As you know, I post Al Lutz links and highlights when they come out. I have never taken the time to state in my post that Al's articles are rumor (informed rumor, but rumor nonetheless) because I have always thought that was obvious. In Al's articles he has this disclaimer:

Some DIS DLR non-regulars are bound to be confused. You are right.

I will change the OP now to reflect this and in the future will add a disclaimer to my summary post. Thanks for keeping all of us honest! :)

Aww, I don't think anyone is being "dishonest," i just am reading a lot of confusion on how WoC is going to play out and lots of people wanting to make plans. I would HATE to see people base everything around Al Lutz's information if they are not aware that his info is not solid fact. As you said, non-regulars here may not know this. Just trying to help people from 2nd guessing based on non-official information.

So will the dining packages and fastpasses get the best standing room, or just reserved standing room? I know it's a lot of speculation, just curious if anyone knew anything about where the fastpass/dining package sections might be?

No one knows yet. :confused3

Not officially from Disney, but from a Cast Member...

The FP machines will distribute tickets randomly, based on sections. For example:

"Opening
8:00AM - Give out Red 4 showpass ticket is handed out.
8:30AM - Red 4 showpass gone, randomize, Blue 2 showpass ticket is handed out.
9:00AM - Blue 2 showpass gone, randomize, Yellow 2 showpass ticket is handed out.

tomorrow, can also be a different story on which starts first and which is next. They do this to prevent people from waiting for a certain color and section."

As a diehard contrarian, I am most interested in how the show plays out from varied spots around the lagoon. I enjoy Fireworks at MK from fantasyland behind the castle, and enjoy fireworks at DL from Small world plaza. I have watched Illuminations from many spots and enjoyed them all. The one show i tend to skip is Fantasmic in both coasts because of the hassel. I think there will be a segment of the guests who quickly figure out those "good enough" spots that take only a 30 minute lead time to snag. I know I will be waiting for those trailblazers!

WOW, I am SOOOOOO glad we are not planning to see this during our trip in 2 weeks. It sounds like a logistical nightmare! Hopefully by the time we return in December, the bugs will have been all worked out.

That second Fantasmic show is sounding better and better!

I, too, am glad I am not part of the Guinea Pig groups. I will gladly wait until many people come back and report exactly how it all works and until everything settles a bit before jumping into the World of Chaos. I'm sure once it gets going and picks up steam, and people adjust to the viewing situation and the waiting area, all will be fine. Right now, it just sounds like madness!! In person, maybe it won't be as crazy.

What if we decide to not tell you? Then what? ;)

There is no way a Diser is gonna see WOC and then not post about it! :rotfl:

As for the picnic rumor, that just doesn't make sense. With F! you are given a seat. Would they expect people to have a standing up picnic during WOC? I just can't imagine they would do that. Unless, they found a super duper spot, put a few chairs there, and then charged $150 a person. Actually, I can see that...

I think a lot of us are aware both that Al Lutz is not a part of Disney, and that there is no guarantee that his information is accurate. But, for those of us there the first week, we have to be able to make some sort of plans the best we can, since Disney has given out very little information that isn't based on various CM speculation.

Having said that, I know a lot of us appreciate any assistance and concern from other members on the board. We'll all be playing it by ear that first week or so, and hopefully we'll be able to clarify any questions once we've been the "guinea pigs."

What if we decide to not tell you? Then what? ;)

:rotfl2::rotfl2:I'll hunt you all down for info!!:rotfl2: It would have to be hidden from the whole forum for me not to see it!! But that's okay - if it stays a mystery, I will still wait it out until I think it's safe to enter the World of Chaos later on down the road.

I think it will all be fine once the initial bugs get worked out, and will become a well-oiled machine. The viewing set-up will make some kind of sense. Glow Fest will make sense. But for right now, before anything has begun, it does all sound a little wacky! Disney will pull it together though. I'm just curious to see if WoC actually turns out to be the smashing success they expect it to be, or if it doesn't live up to the expected hype & crowds.

I will tell you everything I learn firsthand. :littleangel:

And with my track record, that means well over 70% of what I tell you will be accurate. :flower3:

I think the Guine Pigs will deserve a patch, a merit badge, like the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts earn!

I'm thankful for whatever information is leaked at this point. Am hoping my dining package for Woc pays off!

I too will share the wealth of knowledge I plan to gain first hand after this trip. :rotfl2:

Yay! First-hand accounts!! I will eagerly await reports from both of you with the whole scoop! You guys are awesome!:thumbsup2

I agree - the Guinea Pigs are taking one for the team, that's for sure. I don't doubt that the show itself will be wonderful. But I am really wondering about crowds packed in - or not - to see the show, and how crazy - or not- the viewing set-up is. I am also really curious to see how WoC affects the overall crowds in both parks, or if there is even a detectable difference.

I hope to be a guinea pig for ya'll. I am doing the AG dinner route for the first show... first night.

Let's hope they have their beans together and I can post attachments by then. I even have a new camera on order for this trip! :surfweb:
