New Al Lutz: RSR FP News, DCA Crowd Management, PFF News, NextGen at DLR

Interesting update! I am liking the FP machine location for RSR, it will be much easier to grab a FP in the morning. I just hope it is easier to get to than the craziness of ST FP last summer.

As far as LFT goes, I will reserve judgement until I ride it myself. If I remember correctly, there were similar grumblings about Little Mermaid, which I really enjoy. I think Al likes to stir the pot a bit.

Anyway, this is making me really excited for Carsland and Buena Vista Street! I think it is going to make DCA much more popular!

It does seem strange. I kind of put together that they put the balls there because the ride turned out to be kind of boring and it somehow livened things up.

Yeah, thats EXACTLY whats it for! A CM friend said her friend rode it and they were told to knock the balls around a little as they rode to make it more fun. However she rode it alone and she said the balls are just a distraction since her first ride through she was just trying to figure out how to work the machine first. On the second run, she said it was a bit better, but if you are riding alone then the balls just get in the way because you are just too busy trying to get the thing to go!

Eitherway, balls or not, her friend didnt seem impressed with the ride after rideing it multiple times. She did say others liked it a bit more than her, but it doesnt sound to be a home run regardless!

I thought the Carnation Cafe was opening in June. I don't like the idea of it just becoming a Starbucks pitstop in the morning. We always enjoyed our breakfasts with Oscar.

I hope they don't tinker with the menu too much.

Oh no! When I read the update originally, I had assumed that Carnation Cafe would be offering Starbucks in addition to breakfast. I really hope they won't just be serving Starbucks in the morning. DBF and I haven't had a chance to go for breakfast yet and we were looking forward to that on our next trip. We wanted to go for several breakfasts in January, but that's when the refurb started. At the very least, they just can't take the loaded baked potato soup off of the menu. I will cry.

I really don't like the way the NextGen/XPass concept sounds. I think it will just add another layer of stress to those of us who are obsessive planners. Maybe if it's a total disaster at WDW they won't implement it at DLR? I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens.

LFT sounds interesting, but very difficult to maneuver, much less to master. I don't know if I'll have the patience for it but I'll certainly give it a try!

Great info, thanks for sharing, HydroGuy! :goodvibes
