New Al Lutz: Early Splash, Late Mark Twain and Cool Pirate's Lair

I read it, skimming some, I'm busy with work and a 2 year old so reading an article comes in spurts. I saw that some of the caves were rebuilt, but didn't see scary noted or the bridges.

Thanks

Gotta say I'm really impressed with what their doing with the island. Looks fantastic, and we'll for the first time in like ever, take a ride over this year and check it out. Can't wait! I think these improvements were long over due.

Also agree that the DCA improvements are going to be great. I have no doubt that place is gonna be seeing a lot bigger crowds when all of that is said and done.

Thanking my lucky stars that we just have a boy and will have no interest at all in PFF!! LOL He would never be caught going to see some silly "girl". LOL

Great update as usual!

I am NOT going, even with a daughter. I'll pay the money for not so great food at Ariel's Grotto and at least I kill 2 birds with one stone that way.

DITTO!

Rather than try the PFF lines and mess, we have reservations at Ariel's Grotto and I don't care what the food is like if we get our Princess visits and photos done! It's kind of like room service, you know it costs more but it's just so dang convenient!

I am bummed that Fantasmic is going to be delayed because of Mark Twain refurbishment. I have a business trip to our Orange office in late June and I was going to stop in the park for the evening and catch it so I hope it's back up on time!

There has been no info on a Fantasmic delay. My comment in the OP was that Fantasmic uses the MT and it could affect the show. Sounds like DL knows how to produce a show without it, but IMO that would detract from Fantsmic's spectular ending. We too are going to DLR in late June so I am keeping my fingers crossed they get the MT back up by June 18.

we have four boys so I view the PFF as something to suck people away from lines of things we want to do... Go PFF! ;)

I'll second that. Long Live PFF !!!

I am hopeful splash mountain will be open tomorrow. We leave Saturday night and this is the one ride my youngest daughter has never been able to go on. When we visited in February it was closed and it is currently closed.

The good news is, we stopped over there today to go on Winnie the Pooh and they were running the ride with weights in the logs to simulate people. We could hear the song inside and the logs/water were going full blast. The two CM's hanging out there wouldn't give up any info, but they did tell us to make sure we check back before we go home this weekend *wink *wink.

Is anyone at DL today that can confirm Splash being open? I would be curious as I planned on heading out tonight for a quick DL fix. . .

There was a report from a DL CM over on MiceChat that they were working last night in order get it open today.

As of 2:00 pm today it is still not open. We were checking all day and will go back tonight. The CM's we were talking to today said it is scheduled for Monday. :confused3

As for the reports of the Splash Mountain workers being scheduled to work, it appears they are doing some crowd control. They have started constructing the stage for the Pirates Premier and New Orleans Square, Frontier Land, and Adventure Land are a mess because of it. Good luck navigating that area.

Laurie - at Ariels, the fish & chips and hamburgers are okay - veg soup is also good. Be wary of the octodog on the kid's menu, the past 2 trips we saw little girls crying and freaked out over it (not ours but just an FYI.)

We are going to DLR the first time since June 2005, the week of June 11, so I will be friggen happy if it's open till 1am. :goodvibes
