Al Lutz over on MiceAge posted one of his informative articles today here: www.miceage.com/allutz/al050807a.htm.

Here are some highlights:

1. Looks like Splash will re-open early on May 11

2. Mark Twain will not re-open until after June 18. I wonder how this will affect Fantasmic? Fantasmic is planned to re-open on June 14, but uses the MT as part of the show.

3. Pirate's Lair at Tom Sawyer Island looks much cooler that I was expecting. Lots of new stuff is happening over there, and this is only Phase 1.

4. Finding Nemo Subs is on schedule for June 11 and DL may tweak the EE hours to open EE even earlier and/or stay open until 1AM to accomodate all of the guests.

5. Princess Fantasy Faire extended until 2009

6. News on DCA's Paradise Pier and the awesome new show being developed for DCA

I remember watching Fantasmic shortly after that person had gotten hurt on the Mark Twain and they put it out of commision for a while. The ending was done on the island and all the characters hung out and did their dancing on stage. It was real cute but, not as neat as when they are on the boat.

Thanks, great information!

Looks like we're almost neighbors - I'm out in Falcon/Peyton area of CO!

7. Tarzan Treehouse coming out of refurbishment a lot earlier than it was schduled to be down for.

HUZZAH!!!! Splash mountain will be open for our visit this weekend/early next week...... (I don't normally use these, but I felt it necessary. After all, I just called DH to inform him about SM reopening, and he informed me of my ultimate geekiness*....so why not use the dancing banana???)

* This reference to my own geekiness is not meant to imply geekiness affects anyone else who takes pleasure in using smilies. This is my own personal issue!!

There's been a lot of complaining at other sites about the purity of Tom Sawyer's Island being usurped but I think the old one got more than a bit stale, more than a bit neglected. The show, moving the pirates and the show there is going to be nice. And I'm glad there is in the works for a phase two. I'd love to see Disneyland's go 100% to the pirates and WDW's stay Tom and get some needed TLC.

I'm pleased with the changes to DCA too. I think the new look Paradise Pier is going to be nice and the lagoon show great. For all the people that complain about that park, it is coming around very nicely imo and going to get even better.

Well its about time he came out with a new article.... :) I know hes busy and it takes awhile to get the true facts, but its taken quite some time for this one.

Fantasmic! has run many many times without the Mark Twain.

The finale on the Island, is just different.

Disneyland Fantasmic! won't run without the Columbia.

I think whatever DL wants to do to the Island is fine, Walt would have... but the F! stage is starting to look mighty cheesy.

awwww...I wanted to ride the Mark twain, and am a bit worried about the Fantasmic now:mad: oh well...another reason to come back I guess

YAY SPLASH!!!!! I'm going the 14,15 thought I was gonna miss it.

Great news about Splash.

Ridemax did not update new info yet, Splash is not available for the 11th.

At this point the early Splash opening is a rumor, and RideMax will not change their software based on a rumor. As soon as it is reliably confirmed, RideMax will update the software like they have in the past.

First I need to say that I always enjoy the fabulous information you bring to this thread.

Now...... I need to tell you how I am not happy with you for posting item #5. IMO That is just wrong. I do not care for the PFF at all.

If you give me a few minutes I will get over my saddness with you for posting such a sad sad thing. :rotfl2:

Ok, saddness gone. I do enjoy your posts even if you "have to" tell me something I do not want to read.

Thanks again for the FYI.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

FWIW, we have four boys so I view the PFF as something to suck people away from lines of things we want to do... Go PFF! ;)

Oh sure! Enjoy the not so big lines while we are in ours just to see a princess or two. :lmao:

Have a fabulous day and again thanks for the FYI. :thumbsup2

Great info - thanks for sharing that!

Lol...got the Disney Visa rewards mailing last night too and they're advertising the PFF all over it, so I think that's probably staying a while - so sad!!! I am NOT going, even with a daughter. I'll pay the money for not so great food at Ariel's Grotto and at least I kill 2 birds with one stone that way.

Okay so, the Island - any idea if the caves and bridges will still be there? I'm hoping that or something newer will be there. My 2 year old and my girlfriend's 2 year old both love that island just for that and it was nice to let them have a place to run. Anyone know anything?

Did you get a chance to read the Al Lutz article? There it says that the island has been transformed such that parts of it are much scarier for little ones. The caves are there but are changed. I think they added some new caves but it was not clear to me from the article. It also sounded like the bridges are gone and replaced by a stage for a pirate show.
