New AKV Incentives?

We are planning to do a 100 pt add-on. Currently the discount is $16 per point. While this is a fairly decent price I wonder what the new incentive will be after the 15th?

Can someone please shed some light for a fairly new DVC owner on what generally happens when incentives expire? Do they announce new incentives right away? Do points just go back to total price with no incentives for a while? I need some help so we can decide whether we need to call our guide back tomorrow to get our paperwork going........

:confused3

They usually wait a few weeks before announcing the next "deal". That way you feel special when they lower the price to where it should be all the time. :thumbsup2

Ugh, originally we were going to wait to do the add-on until our trip (11 days away ... woohoo!) but not knowing what the new incentive will be is giving me anxiety. Should we call our guide immediately, rush and get it done right away before current incentives expire? Or take a little more time, think about it, and see what's next?

Decisions ... decisions ...I would kick myself in the butt if the next incentive is better than what's expiring tomorrow.

I believe you can start the paperwork with the current incentives, and as long as it doesn't take too long for them to announce the new incentives, you could always switch if the new incentives are better. I'm not sure how much time you would have though. Someone else would probably know a little better. I'm anxious too to see if the next set of AKV incentives will be any better. If the rumor that BLT is selling really well is to be believed, I would hope that they would shift the incentives to AKV instead. We would like to add-on too so I'm keeping my fingers crossed:)

If you contact your guide and start the add on, you can always have the contracts re-written if a better incentive comes out before you close. I did that with my BLT in February (had not closed when the new incentives had come out April 1st) and will do it with my new 50 point add on I just did this week.

For me, I doubt any incentive for 50 points will be better--however, if the 100 point add on is better than the current $98.00 per point, I may have to consider changing # of points!

If you are planning on doing it in the next few weeks anyway, just start now and see what happens!

Good luck!!!

Thanks all for the input. I still have some questions for our guide so I'll call her tomorrow and go from there.

:rolleyes1

Another question: Incentives expire 6/15, does that mean through 6/15 or should I already have the paperwork going today?
