Hi, The Toronto Sun has an ad for Air Transat seat sale. I called today for our dates and time of our existing Air Canada flight. The don't have April 20-30, but they had April 20-May 1 at $20 more per seat than we are paying Air Canada, plus the Air Transat flight times are terrible. Happy with Air Transat last year, but when there more money than Air Canada this year, I'm happy I booked Air Canada. I got my dates and times and a better price. I have been monitoring Air Transat for a year and the prices were never good. Their so called seat sale it no better. We have decided to drive the next trip. Last 5 trips were flying, we can drive next time. S

I have always avoided Air Transat and the former Royal as a result of poor and unreliable service. Canada 3000 was always our first choice but I guess we are out of luck this year (way to go Angus Kinear).

Unfortunately, I will already be out of the country when our next vacation comes about in September so my DW and DD will meet me in Orlando. That rules out Buffalo and Southwest since my DW is not keen on driving across the border without me. So unless Westjet or Skyservice expands service south, we will be paying whatever Air Canada asks in order to have non-stop reliable service.

Hi C, In January, Air Canada seat sale was $385 all taxes and sc incl from YYZ to MCO! That's way better than the $500 Air Transat wanted. S

Hey Caveman,Westjet just recently got landing priviledges in Orlando. So hopefully it wont be too much longer before they start their flights there. It sure would be nice if they flew out of Hamilton instead of driving to Toronto.

Wow Kelly when did this take place?

I read the Spectator but failed to see that article!:D That would be fantastic if Westjet leaves from Mount Hope. What with the new expansion coming in the near future I guess it'll be just a matter of time before we can "pop" up to the airport and fly to Orlando!Maybe they'll be up and running for our trip next March. Great news.:sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

The extra competition sould be good for pricing. Given the short hall to MCO of about 2 1/2 hours it isn't worth paying for extra perks. Living north or Toronto I don't mind if they end up flying out of PIA but I also wouldn't mind Hamilton either.

I hope I did not worry anyone who has booked Air Transat because that was not my intention. I am sure that for the most part, they are a safe and reliable airline. It is just that my limited experience with Air Transat has not been very good and I am one to only give a company one chance to make me happy. Besides, I was always spoiled with Canada 3000 being on time and providing exceptional service. There are probably many who had bad experiences with CAN 3000 as well. If I remember correctly Sandra had a good flight with Air Transat last year so I guess it is all personal choice/opinion.

Here's to competition!
